Sport Tired question

We have all heard that it's the Triptophan in turkey that makes us so sleepy after Thanksgiving dinner (here in the U.S.)

But what is it in warm milk that is supposed to make us sleep so soundly?
And why is it warm milk, and not cold? Does something breakdown in the milk upon heating it?

Wondering if anyone knows, as I google it myself!

huh!

"Most other beverages we enjoy warm tends to have caffeine, which inhibits sleep"

I thought caffeine gave you energy, or is that only for a short period, then you "inhibit sleep"?

Inhibits meaning that it makes your body energized, not sleepy and slower. :)
