Tired of being unhappy with my body!

Hello All,

I am a 29 year old mother with a hectic lifestyle. I no longer have the energy to look into the mirror and be disgusted at the sight! I have struggled with weight my entire life but after having a child my weight has done nothing but increased. I am willing to take the steps toward weight loss but just want the guidance and motivation with other people on the same journey. I am currently 235 pounds with a height of 5’7. I can feel the weight taking a toll on my knees, and it has to end now! Mentally I am drained and I just can’t enjoy life like this anymore. I no longer want to take pictures, I just want to lay in bed and be depressed but unfortunately can’t lol. Please help with any tips. I work an early shift 8 hours a day 5 days a week and afterwards baby sit 4 hours a day 5 days a week and food delivery on the side 6 days out of the week after baby sitting. I am constantly turning to fast food for lunch and dinner because I have little to no time to cook before bed when I get home at the end of the day. I need some alternatives! A healthier living life style for me and my child has to be done!

Hi, Mariie & welcome to the forum. Wow. What a crazy life you have. I can't make any suggestions on how to change that, but cutting down on fast food would be the obvious one. Are you able to take your own food with you to eat during the day? Fresh fruit & veg, perhaps with some dip, like hummus would be a better alternative. Don't be disgusted with yourself, just make a start on getting healthier. I'm sure you can do it.

Hi cate, I am able to do that. I am going to have to start planning better! I am a procrastinator and tend to do things last minute. So I am always in a rush. This is going to take organization and strategy. Thanks for the help and encouragement ❤️

Wow, you have a crazy busy schedule! If you feel that you can pre-plan and take food with you to avoid eating fast food all the time, that would make a huge difference! I find that I cook the healthiest when things are prepped, like having most of my produce washed and cut up and waiting in the fridge. That way I can just throw in into whatever I'm making with much less effort (or even have raw veggies if I really don't have time). If you do have to have fast food, there are likely changes you could make to make healthier choices or cut down on portions if needed.

And I want to echo Cate to not be disgusted with yourself. Your weight is not your worth! Starting on making healthy changes is difficult but you can do it!

I am going to start making a grocery list instead of blind shopping and buying quick meals! Thanks for the tips and words of encouragement!! It is hard but I have to start some where ❤️

Making a list instead of blind shopping is essential & will also save you money. Pre-planning is key. I think you have started already :D

I agree. Pre planning is key but you need to allow yourself room for error; don’t plan everything down to the calorie or minute. That may work for a couple of days but it’s not sustainable.

You still need to enjoy life and have the opportunity to deviate from your plan occasionally.

Completely agree!

Definitely a mental battle. I will shoot you an email. Thanks for the response and encouragement!!! It is greatly appreciated!

I'd be leery of anyone suggesting to email privately.
It walks and talks like a duck...or spam...

Welcome to the forum!
Yes, you do have a crazy busy schedule!!
Getting organized and prepped with food will really help!!
