tips for 10 miles nonstop

I think this is the right forum...

anyways I am going to jog 10 miles without stopping and I want to know some tricks. Other than doing it in the morning so I dont pass out because its a friggin desert out here, that and keeping a steady pace...drinking water before hand, any other suggestions?

i eat a banana before, and drink some gatorade. but i usually only run 5

Carry a water bottle with you, and drink ~3 sips of water every mile or so. Also, carry one package of gu and pop it at the 5 mile mark.

Stretch lots after the run is over. Also, don't forget to properly warm-up and cool down before and after by walking at least 1/4 mile (5 minutes).

Try doing shorter runs (2 or 3 max) during the week at slightly faster pace for maintenance. Then, once per week do your "long run" day.
