Time is Wasting! That's how I feel about my weight loss. One week ago I decided to make a change. No longer happy with being 265-270 for 15-20 years, I am determined to reach 180 again. I want 32" waist jeans, and don't want to be the fat old guy.

I'm 6'1" and was thin as a rail until I started working seriously behind a desk in my mid-20s. Now after all this time, I'm determined to eat differently and put myself first. I've read up on the way to do this, eat less calories and make exercise apart of my life every day.

I'm eating nearly an all organic vegan diet and after a week, I feel FANTASTIC. I've lost 7 pounds after week 1. And I want this for the rest of my life. During my weight loss phase, I'm giving myself the equivalent of a net 1000 calories. I eat about 1400 calories, put do about 500 calories a day of exercise (walking and jogging). So I net <1,000 calories. I'm drinking almost all water, with the occasional ice-tea. I have also done this while maintaining 4 work lunches in resturants, and 2 dinners out. It's totally possible if you are smart about your ordering.

I have a very supportive wife, who while doesn't need to lose anything, is eating many of the same meals with me. When she is eating some higher calorie meals, she has the courtesy of not doing it in front of me all the time.

I am here on this board to look for support from others who are also made the positive life change and are doing it too! We will reach our goals and maintain it for the rest of our life.

I can't wait to report back and post my before and after photos. Have a great day!

I'm in for the long haul and its not vanity, its for medical reasons. I intend not to look at the big picture, but to just take the loss 1lb at a time and build up my exercise regime slowly
