Long story short, I have gained 15-20 lbs since I married in June. I need help bad. Before the wedding I did everything I could to lose weight, including diet pills. I swear they took my memory I have struggled with losing weight since I had my first child 7 years ago. Using diet pills I flutuated up and down for the the last 7 years, but now I am the heaviest I have ever been. I try my best to eat healthy, it is very expensive to eat healthy. I do not get very much exercise because of my work schedule and my children's extra curricular activities. My daughter is in gymnastics and basketball two nights a week and my son plays b-ball one night a week. The other three days are for home work and a decent home cooked meal. I had joined a local gym but discontinued my membership because of the guilt of taking my kids from one "day care" if you will to another one and the lack of "family time". I went today and purchased Slim Fast with hopes of starting it next week and replacing breakfast and lunch with one can. I really dont like doing those types of things because I feel like once you stop utilizing them, the weight will come back.

I bought a kick boxing DVD and I have a Gazelle (sp) but use either of them very rarely due to a severe knee injury in college. I have no cartlidge in my left knee so anytime I bend, sqat, jump, etc, it is bone on bone so you can imagine the pain and I have had a ligment replacement (ACL). I thought about swimming but being a black female with my hair, really not an option. Can someone please help me. PLEASE...advise!! My husband tell me ALL the time that I have to make time for myself, but my kids are young 7 and 3 and I feel like my time is later, I have to be there for them now because I decided to be a mother.

A lot of my fattness(yeah made up) is genetics, my mom & sister has really skinny legs and arms but their back, sides and stomach is big also. As you can imagine being a former college athlete, made of nothing but muscles and bones, my current state is FRUSTRATING!!!! HHHHEEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!

welcome to the forum! and congrats on your recent nuptuals :)
your right about one thing, it sure is expensive to eat healthy! thats one of the things that angers me...i have even posted about that somewhere around here

about the slimfast, your probably right. how many hours a day do you work? whats your schedule like? i know everyone says they dont have time to spare, but if your desperate (and it sounds like you are) you will find the time.

what is your diet like? do you drink a lot of water? i think if you could find the time to start a diary here and give us an idea of what your eating/doing we can probably start giving you some great advice. :)

June welcome to the forum. Your schedule does look pretty hectic. However, when I first start dieting mine looked about the same. Somehow though I found the time to fit in a little exercise here and there and the time to actually start my new diet plan. I'm sure you will be able to also.
