Thoughts on IPad from Apple.

I been reading some newspaper articles, this things looks wonderful.

As a future trainer I see myself saving ****loads of time with this thing.

It's as big as 4 Ipod touch' and starts at 499$

Thoughts?
 
I think it looks like a jack of all trades but master of none.

Although I've heard some people say that you have to actually use one to appreciate it so who knows.
My plan is to not try one so I won't feel the need to buy one therefore saving myself $500 :D
 
I'll wait for the clones to come out that cost $150 less and have a camera.

My Zune never failed me and was less than an iPod.
My HTC Hero is great, and was way way less than an iPhone.

Kudos to Apple for doing it first, but I tire of their corporate antics over licensing and what apps get allowed, etc.
 
it's a shame that it isn't more like a computer, and less like the iPod Touch. I think the idea of a *computer* with the style of an iPod Touch, would be a great addition to the technology advances that Apple tends to surprise us with, but, I was quite disappointed when I found out it can't handle flash. If you expect people to enjoy fast web surfing on something like that as they claim, then you should be able to surf *any* web pages, and that includes those that are heavy with flash.

I was hoping for more, I really wanted one, but not now......
 
I agree if it ran closer to a full version of Mac OS X then it would be a lot more tempting.

The fact you are limited to Ipod/Iphone apps etc (even though there are a lot of them) is a negative.

I don't think this has a "desktop" it is the same software the iPod Touch and iPhone right??

Hopefully asus or somebody similar comes out with one that runs Windows 7 with all it's handy touch features. I don't think i'd buy one if they did because I don't really have a use for it.

Lugging this around would mean taking a bag of some sort when i'm out, where as without it I can just stick my blackberry in my Jeans pocket or in my suit when in work.

If you're going to carry around a small bag with you may aswell just take a netbook which costs about 1/3 and has less restrictions.

I do take a "man bag" of sorts out with me on work days but it contains my Whey protein, Udo's choice ultimate oil blend and fruit lol.
