Sport This is weird...

Sport Fitness
I'm 16, 5'10, and 145 lbs.

I upped my calories by 2000 about a month ago, making my daily intake 4000. At first, I could barely get my last meal in without throwing a bit of it up. Lately I've noticed I'm hungry even after eating all of that. Is my body telling me I need more calories? I don't get it 4000 is double the recommended daily intake for an average male.

Why am I still hungry?! 2 weeks ago I wouldn't ever want to eat, now I always want to.

Same thing happened to me and I got up to 4,500 I was getting hungry about an hour before my last meal. I wouldnt up your calories unless you are not gaining muscle. And if you are gaining lots of fat, i would lower them. Its all about balance.

Try drinking water when you get hungry to tide you over..

Your body gets used to the amount of food. Your stomach expands, and therein it can accomodate more materials. As you gain mass, mainly muscle, your body will need more calories to keep it energized.

For example.

A regular body, without muscles, (I know, I know, just go along with it) weighing 100lbs needs for instance 1,000 calories.

- 100lbs, 1,000 calories

Now you somehow make the muscle, let's say 10lbs.

- 110lbs, 2,000 calories (+1,000 calories needed to sustain the body)

...and so on.

So as you bulk, you need more and more calories to keep you going because you're gaining more and more muscle which needs to be fed.

Thats what I was thinking. Also, I'm thinking about boosting my calories again, to 4,500. I am getting results, but I don't think I'm gaining ANY fat. So I think I'm going to see if I do gain fat if I do, more calories, better results, as long as it isn't turning into fat.

I have a VERY fast metabolism anyways, so I need a lot. I'm happy that I'm starting to get used to this much eating... It was hell the first 2, or 3 weeks.
