Good luck. I've been struggling to commit to my latest diet, having gained about 2 st over the last 18 months. I lost the weight originally by magic and the the last of it by 100% commitment to a VLCD. I maintained when my lifestyle changed naturally after my undergrad degree and I was able to be more active. When I went back for an MA and now a PhD, I sit at my desk either thinking about food or eating it. Even during training for a half marathon I got way fitter but deffo ate to compensate for the exercise and didn't lose weight. Now I'm not doing that any more, I guess any muscle I gained has gone wobbly and I'm in the worst shape I've ever been in. I'm 10 st 13 and want to get back to my best and have about 2 st to lose. As you say, now's the time to just get it done. I'm using meal replacement shakes as I cannot be trusted with choice and can't even keep food in the house. Went on a binning spree yesterday and made the kitchen diet friendly. All the best to you!
