This dude i workout with.

There is this guy that is just getting his band up and running and is working as like a teachers aid at my school. He constantly looks to me for tips on what hes doing and stuff which is kinda funny considering i dont know that much :p. He wants to start doing my routine which is The shotgun method atm. He wants me to be his personal trainer as well, here is his first single. I'm thinking ****...i could get payed good being his personal trainer if he made it big lol

personal trainer? No offense, but you're not qualified for that. Not that I am either.

haha yeah i know im not but hey if he wants to pay me to help him workout ;) i would not refuse it. Karky **** qualification...you easily have the knowledge to be a PT you just don't have the qualifications. You would pass the personal training courses with ease.

Being a PT is harder than most people think. I tried helping this girl I know out once. Turns out she couldn't squat to parallel, so you start thinking what to do. You think there's some mobility issue, but you don't know the tests to figure out exactly where. Saying "you need more hip mobility" is a lot easier than giving someone more hip mobility.
I'd be worried about doing something to injure the guy and then having to suffer the consequences.

Your wife as your personal trainer? wouldn't that be conflict of intrest or something like that?

Nah. She'd just stand there counting reps and looking hawt like these couple of personal trainers at my gym. Their horrible trainers, but you don't looking at them for an hour.

I don't know what "get your band up" means euphemestically, but I can tell you that the word Unique is a superlative, and saying Very Unique is a double superlative and grammatically incorrect.

.... and therefore, since their grammar sucks, you should not be associated with this band! (I'm not sure how much of a contribution that post was )

Seriously, if you want to train with the guy, do it. If he wants to pay you to work out with him, DEFINITELY DO IT.... but make sure you help his grammar as well as his form on squats. :jump1:

That's like prescribing drugs for a paitient when you're not a GP - it's illeagal...But take whatever he said as a compliment.

It's not illegal to offer training advice and to workout with the guy... as long as its not on the false premise of SM being a certified personal trainer.

Maybe, but not necessarily if it's just done on a verbal basis, without a contract. The reason doctors, accountants, and even engineers can be held personally liable is because they set up contracts to do health work, financial work, or designing work...and if the client dies on a botched surgury, or loses a bunch of money from bad accounting work, or dies on a crumpled bridge, they are held accountable because they contracted to do the work...

So yeah, don't kill him, and if you do, move to Guatemala for 4 months, then move to Bolivia and see Carlos Guierrmo for your eyeball replacement.

I don't know that you'd run into any trouble as long as you never told the guy you were a certified trainer.... doesn't change the fact that he's an idiot for paying some random guy at the gym for lifting advice.

I'm going to make gym shirts that say, "Help pay my mortgage, $1 per spot"

Well you see the thing is, if he's gonna train the guy in a gym than the gym will want to know wtf is going on. You can't just walk into a gym as a member and train people for money, that isn't how it works. You have to sign a contract and pay gym rent for the use of their equipment and it's usually around the $200-$250/week mark. Even if he gets away with this, you'd want to stay under the radar (depending on how much money he makes) because if you start making and spending all this money, than the tax department is gonna want to know where it all came from.

I don't know, maybe things are different in the US, but you wouldn't get away with it down here.

Here it wouldn't be a problem. The US population is over 300,000,000. The government sent visa renewal letters to several of the 9/11 hijackers a year later. They aren't going to notice a guy spending a few extra bucks:yelrotflmao:

Yeah I think that's true. You would have to make a sizable income before the IRS would start sniffing around.

I think you could pull it off. You could walk into the gym together as customers, pretend you're workout partners. How many work out partnerships doesn't consist of one person basically helping the other out, one clueless and one not so clueless. If he pays you a lot and he starts making monthly payments into your account then you might be screwed, but if you do it with cash.. :p

don't take my word for it though, I don't know US regulations or anything like that.
