I know how hard it can be to shop for healthy food when you visit a grocery store.

There are so many items there that you don’t know which ones to pick and which ones to leave behind. Not to worry though, I am here to help you!

Okay, you are planning to go to the grocery store so the first thing you need to do is make a list of things you will be buying.

Here they are:

• Grains, Legumes and Starches – High Fiber Cereals, Oats, Sweet Potatoes, Brown Rice or Basmati Rice

• Meat/Protein Items – Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, Wild Salmon, Flank/Sirloin or Lean Beef

• Vegetables/Fruits – 3 to 4 In-season Fruits, 5 In-season Vegetables that must include one Leafy Green, Tomatoes, Onions, Cucumber and Onions

• Oils/Condiments – Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Vinegar/Apple-cider Vinegar, Mustard, Low Sodium Soy Salt, Ketchup

• Dairy – Nonfat Milk, Regular Yogurt, Eggs, Cottage Cheese

• Seasonings – Black Pepper, Lemons, Peppermint, Coriander, Ginger, Garlic, Sea Salt, Kosher Salt

Make sure these items are on your grocery list whenever you go shopping!
