The Royal Wedding!

Soooo, who watched it?

I watched part of it. She looked so pretty! Kinda annoyed me how everything in England grrrrround to a halt for just a wedding but the Royal Family is such a big deal over here. Was nice to feel like the whole of England came together for the morning :D

I think she is beautiful! It sounds like a fairy tail, it must be nice.

I thought her sister Pippa looked lovely as well! And Harry. Feel bad that even their wedding is so horribly public but I guess they might get a bit of peace on their honeymoon. She lost a TON of weight for the wedding though--The pressure must be insane.

Let's hope she's more level-headed about her weight than Diana was.
I thought she looked great in every picture I've seen of her. Apparently she dropped 20lbs and I wouldn't like to see her 1 pound lighter.

Very pretty girl. Nice to see someone from my corner of Berkshire becoming Royal.

The Royal Berks? My 2 sisters were born there. I was born in Sandleford, Newbury and grew up in Thatcham. I went to secondary school in Reading. Small world.

Yeah, the Royal Berks :) My mum was a nurse there for 15 years. I grew up here and then moved to Portsmouth when I was 18. I know Newbury and Thatcham! My parents are now in Caversham! Also went to secondary school here...Wonder if it's the same one! Mine was famed for it's fighting! Not always pleasant place but I had a great time :)

Prospect? I went to Hugh Faringdon. Which is sadly no longer a school. Probably just as well becasue standards were pretty low.

Know both of the schools you just mentioned though. I had a friend at Hugh Faringdon..I thought it was still open? I think it's a preforming arts college now.

I went to Highdown. Was rough as hell but I turned out okay (ish!) We used to be rivals with Chiltern Edge school.

Yes it's some kind of Arts place now. Not a secondary school. I recognise the name Highdown. We didn't really have rivals but were neigbors to a private school next door whose name escapes me for the time being.
We finished school at 1:35pm in my first year and 2:10pm for 2nd through 5th year because the teachers didn't want to supervise a lunch hour we only had a 20 minute break.

As I've mentioned before in this forum, the whole celebrity watching thing is really a huge annoyance to me.
But if you enjoy it,... .... ... I won't understand you. BWAHAHAHAHA!
This would be more my thing... but I'd only reluctantly participate because you're still recognizing the wedding by being against it.

Very small world, Iain!

Monsterrrr (that's an energy drink in England, always think of that when I see you post!), I'm usually really anti-celebrities and have very little interest in the royal family but it was something about pretty much the whole of england getting together in pubs, parks, London and the streets to celebrate the future king getting married to such a beautiful girl. I liked the sense of community and "Britishness" I felt when watching. I'd never get that from watching Katie Price and Peter Andre get hitched!

I'm pretty anti-celebrity too but think the Royals are an exception. I's a rarity for British people to agree but I think everyone agrees our new Princess looked absolutely beautiful on her big day.

Honestly, I really didn't see it as being a sort of national and cultural phenomenon. Sorry.. Oops.... I guess I just associated this with all of the other regular "celeb" garbage, since it's lumped in there in the news with all of the other stuff that's of no interest to me. I guess I'll blame the media on this one. The anti-wedding street party sounds much more inviting now!
And who is this?: :bigear:
Prince Charles or Barak Obama?
:smilielol5:

:p I have a thing for Prince Harry! Or Kate's (I'm sorry, Katherine!) sister Pippa! I think it's a British thing maybe, Monster. I could care less about normal celebs but the Royal Family are in a different league, I think!
