When I hear a lot of fitness enthusiasts and bodybuilders talk about meats they tend to recommend chicken breast, lean red meats and fish (which are all great)...but what about lean pork? I think people tend to think of pork as very fatty, but some cuts are extremely lean and just as protein dense as the others I mentioned.
Pork loin can be very lean as well as some cuts of ham. I have some 98% fat free ham. One 1 oz. slice has 5 g protein and only 0.5 grams of total fat. I've been eating a lot of that since I noticed how much sat fat I was getting with my "extra lean" ground beef habit.
Are there problems with pork that I'm not aware of?
