Sport The nastiest thing I ever tasted

Sport Fitness
I read on the forum some time this week how someone had mixed chocolate protein powder with their oatmeal and how good it tasted. So this morning thought I would give it a try. YUCK!
This is the nastiest thing I have ever tasted. Please take my advice and never, never try this. I still can't get the taste out of my mouth. LOL

I am with you there. I would rather just chug the shake then enjoy the oatmeal.

yeah i never tried chocolate. I tried vanilla but since the flavor of the oatmeal was stronger, it didnt really do much for flavor, just gave it a powdery sort of flavor.

i use milk and honey in mine. it tastes great

It's pretty common amongst my friends and they love it. I prefer to just throw my oats in the blender with milk, protein, and berries and just drink it.

I mix vanilla whey with mine and it tastes great, I mix in skiimed milk a nd nuke it in the microwave for 4 mins - I've had the same breakfast every day for about 4 months now (apart from Sundays, gotta have scrambled eggs on toast on Sundays :))

hey css925,

Did you put it in BEFORE you cooked it or after? Dont put it in before you cook it or it will cook the protein and then it will taste pretty bad.

I actually like the taste of my oatmeal too much to dare mess with it, so I put my chocolate powder into my coffee :D

Sidenote - mix it in after its brewed

the taste wasnt' great...but the consistency...yack. the protein swelled up and tasted softly gritty, and the whole thing was thicker than spackle.

Once was enough.

Oh wait, I tried Muscle Milk and Oats recently to see if it was better. couldn't gag it down at all.

I put it in after cooking, I think just the chocolate made it so nasty.
It was also very thick. From now on I'll keep them separate.

probably a good idea, i tried it only once with vanilla. and it wasnt bad for me, it just wasnt very good. Plus, i like the taste of oats anyway, so it doesnt bother me either way

I absolutely dig that stuff!! :)
Funny how tastes differ..

I think it must come down to taste - I always mix it up before cooking, it would be way too thick to mix afterwards so, the end result would have 'powder pockets' which are one thing I can't stand!

I whole heartedly agree. I tried casein in my oats one time. Nastiest crap ever!

good point but i heard that if you heat whey a lot it loses a lot of its quality.
is this accurate?

No, if that were the case, there would be no benefit to eating cooked meat.
