The lil things that make the BIG DIFFERENCE?

Maybe it's all the really lil things that make the BIG difference, ya know.

Such as taking the stairs, parking far away, short walks, and all that sort of thing.

I started riding my bike to work.
I sit on a swiss stayball at my desk, as much as I can. It's tiring.
I cook as much as possible, verses eating out like I used to.
I try to use the stereo at home verses the t.v.

What are some of the lil things that you do, that you believe contribute to the big difference overall?

Sweat Daily!

Try and have as much sex as possible, it's the only cardio I get these days so need to make it count ;)

I plan and cook my meals the night before, this is one of the most important aspects for a healthy lifestyle for me.

When it comes to food I have no discipline and self control. But I have found, if I put in the effort to plan and prepare my meals, I am more likely to stick with a healthy diet.

Don't think that stressing yourself out will necessarily yield positive results. that's what can cause people to give up, and continue to just live for the day rather than for long term goals.

hello Hello,

Huh?? what do you mean?

We ar talking about lil things that incorporate movement and exercise that are part of our everyday routine. Like parking far away , or taking the stairs. This thread is about "low tress" little things, that can ultimately make a big difference.

And don;'t think for a minuite that Tampon ever has sex. He is a smoothie ;)

I think your concept of 'sweat daily' is really important - bodies were meant to move, not just sit around. Tied to that, do things you enjoy. I do my share of 'standard' gym workouts - cardio blowouts on the EFX, Stairmaster, or treadmill - but the reason I am doing them is to be in good enough shape to do the really fun stuff on the weekends - a 20 mile day hike on the peaks or in the Grand Canyon, a cross country ski tour or big snowshoe, spend the day in a kayak or the canoe (OK - I hate the canoe, but do it sometimes anyway because my guy likes it), mountain bike, rock climb, whatever. In other words: PLAY HARD!!

Cooking and/or preparing fresh food is really important - that way you control the ingredients and the portions. No scary unpronouncable ingredients in my homemade soup - if it's in there, I put it there and I did it for flavor. If you can make the time, grow your own veggies or at least your own fresh herbs. I found that as I got used to eating good stuff, I didn't enjoy eating out very much as it doesn't taste as good.

Oh, and don't be a lunatic! I really try to keep this in mind professionally - it is important to do a good job, be honest and straightforward, and details matter - but everyone should have a life outside of work, so Don't be a Lunatic!

Cheers!

lol! I obviously play hard.

yer a good one!
