Sport The importance of breakfast *important*

Sport Fitness
Hello people.

I am fairly new to this forum so I will give you a little intro.

My name is Eric and I am currently studying with ISSA to become a trainer.

This subject is very important to me, and, like everything else that I learn, I like to try and experiment with what is thought to me to further increase retention of whatever it is I am learning and to also have first hand experience.

Needless to say, this time I experimented on the importance of breakfast.

I know *ALOT* of people who don't eat in the morning. They have alot of excuses, from feeling sick after eating to "not having the time".

So, is breakfast something you should skip because of said reasons?

No. The benefits outweigh the troubles it gives you ten fold.

I did a fairly basic experiment. I am that kind of person btw...I have had a lot of trouble eating in the morning and after this test I have decided to have breakfast every damn morning from now on.

I decided that for a week I would try and have my biggest meal in the morning and that after said week I would completely stop having breakfast (which is what I used to do).

Let me tell you!

Holy crap!

What the $#@$@#$ have I been doing all this time?

Today is the day I did not have breakfast, I am out of energy and tired compared to yesterday like you wouldn't believe! My mood and motivation is also negatively affected... :(

So I say this to you, you who does not eat breakfast:
Eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your whole day will be much MUCH better.

I deserve to get whipped one hundred times for every breakfast I've skipped.

Any volunteers?

Hope I convinced you ;)

Good day.

Eric

I don't eat breakfast, and don't really care for it. I tend to feel better if I don't eat something when I wake up, otherwise I feel somewhat bloated.

My body has gotten pretty used to not eating in the morning, and my energy levels and mood is just fine.

I'd agree totally. I used to never eat breakfast, then I ate miniscule amounts of crap for breakfast. Now I'm having a well balanaced breakfast and I feel awesome. It make a huge difference. I will never skip it again.

BTW welcome to the forum :D

Yeah Yeah.

I just recently started to eat breakfast. I have a bowl of oatmeal and some fresh fruits from the garden, and I feel 100 times better then I did before I started to eat breakfast. And my fuse doesn't seem to be as short. :p

Phate89,

Shame on you.

:p

Have you ever tried though?

Sure. Just had some breakfast this morning. Usually only have breakfast on weekends. Then on weekdays I skip it. I don't feel any different and my body has gotten used to not eating break fast mon-fri and it isn't hungry for it.

The body learns to adapt very well.

But now that I am out of school, I will probably be having breakfast more. Just saying it doesn't make a difference for me.

I try to eat breakfast every morning, but it always feels like I'm force feeding myself. I don't think I've ever been hungry in the morning.

I think I'm going to put some research into this...what's the reason why the body acts this way in the morning? hmmm

I also feel like I'm forcing myself when having breakfast...it's probably because I'm not used to having breakfast...

Meh....back to work.

i find it hard as well to eat breakfast, but i make myself have it anyway.

I'm rarely hungry at the time that I'm forced to eat breakfast, but I know that I'll be ravenous in an hour or so. Depending on whether I'm traveling or not, I'll usually have a protein shake or eggs and some other stuff in the morning... usually holds me over until 11am or so.

I personally think eating *anything* for breakfast is better than eating nothing. I noticed a lot more energy during the day if I just eat something.

I remember thinking about my diet. I remember on days where I ate something for breakfast, I ate less during the day. With this in mind, I always eat breakfast now. If I run out of oatmeal, eggs, or my favorite cereal, I usually eat something else.

I think there is a research done where they studied people who ate anything for breakfast - be it a donut or oatmeal or a sugar infested cereal - weigh less than and had more energy than someone who didn't eat anything for breakfast.

Alpen sounds like a good cereal to have.

I'm gonna try to look that up Dallen...btw I like your sig

Something people forget or rather don't know is that when you eat in the morning your body increases its metabolism and therefore it will burn more calories for the rest of the day...it's like a super positive chain reaction when you eat in the morning ;)

Yesterday was the first time I had breakfast in a long time and I am seeing other things happen...today I woke up a lot earlier than before (WITH NO ALARM!) and was alot more enegized...I'm gonna keep this up...

buhbye

There is also an article about breakfast aiding weightloss in the articles section. You are less likely to pick up junk food/high calorie Espresso's on the way if you started out with breakfast.
