the first thirty pounds were easy

I would like to prelude this with a point: i was a thin young person in the eighties. it was this confidence in the back of my mind that allowed me to eat and over eat and make a lot of bad eating choices over a twenty year period.

the long and the short of it is this: I have lost 30 pounds of fat. it has taken me three years. i think this is reasonable. anyone who can do it faster is using drugs or supplements that are, in my opinion, a denger to the heart.

i beleive the best way to lose weight is to follow an ashtanga yoga program. these exercises get your metaboloism moving all day. long. the trucker or the office worker can sit and there metabolism is still on a natural high for hours. you dont need drugs or supllements to get your metabolism high.

i also beleive we are an overeating socviety. i now will not eat a meal larger than my fist. I may eat five of these smaller meals in a day, but if you are eating more than this amount, you are overeating.

i am a doctor. have you ever noticed there are as many overweight doctors as there are overweight persons in any profesion. do not resort to medical interventions such as drugs to burn off weight: these pills kill. my name is dr ***** brodeur, and if you google me, you'll finsd a few of my other articles on losing wight. I am also eager to engage in a conversation with any person who is struggling with the first, larger amounts of weight they need to lose.

Congrats on your Doctors Degree. Are you going to do a diary and have an interest in the weight loss community in here or you just going to spam us and leave ??

howdy

thank you, no, not into spamming and leaving. i thought spamming meant mass emailing. i believe in the power of sharing information and for this reason i am a newy to this site.

i read your story this afternoon, in fact it was the first story I read, then decided to join the group. my interests are personal and professonal: i urge patients away from drugs and dangrous supplements whenever possible and internet forums are as good as support groups.

therefore, i am exploring thi site, for my own knowledge, for referal to current patients, and to offer advice if requested.

how have you been doing? I see you are well below the weight you had been at prior to your parents anniversary.

personally, at my largest, i was 245, nd i had convinced myself it was all muscle, but looking back at photos, it was not. It took a fw years of being weight to finally notice and admit to it, and then fuor years or more of subtle diet and lifestyl modifications. I still currently could lose about ten pounds of fat but am not obssessing over this.

anyways, you are the only person to post but you can post me again.

one more thing, i have found that eating only organic allows me to eat much less...

Cool Doc. You made the google challenge so I took you up on that. Don't blame me but you're heavily invested in the internet with advertising. It kinda made me go hmmm..

Good Luck on your diary and if you can back up your claim to wellness with genuine forum advice for the benefit of our community, I'm sure your diary will get a lot of traffic, after all, that's what we're all here for.

Welcome to the Diary Section. Post often.

Gotta agree with Trucker on this one Doc. No one is posting probably because everyone is skeptical. If what you are saying is true, then we welcome you and hope you hang around. If your posts smell like a means of advertising, they will be deleted. Welcome to the forum! :D

Ok, so I am back again. I typed your name in yahoo and I have to say that I didn't find any articles on losing weight. All I found was your website plastered everywhere and a downloadable ebook that I could purchase on how to reduce my back pain.

wow

thats pretty incredible. its true i am involved in a back pain/yoga booklet, but that is not my reasons for geting involved in this community.

but i was interrrupted in the midle of my final post. I am convinced that when I eat organic foods mainly, my cravings for foods are reduced and that i am able to eat less. At my peak weight I was 245 and I am now 185, and on close examination (not easily seen in any pictures you might see on the net) I have about ten to twenty pound of weight left to lose.

The problem with the final ten to twenty pounds is that once you have lost this amount of weight, a certain amount of pride exists and the desire for gluttony returns.

I did not notice it when I was younger, but food was a source of indredible pleasure to me. I would love the huge dinner, the modest desert, the three or four snacks, followed by the peanut butter sandwich with a glass of milk to tidey myself off for bed time.

Now, when under control, I will eat as often, several times in the evening, but no more tha a total mass the size of my fist over the entire evening. When undisciplined, I seee the size of my stomach increase literally in one evening as it becomes bloated with food.

Very boring story, point being that many dieters are where I am: not disciplined enough to finish off the job and have the perfectly lean body.

I am wondering if any person has input on this topic.

Also, are three any ashtanga yoga practicioners or those who have found the organic foods do diminish their appetite?
