The First post!!

Welcome! I am new, too. This is my first posting and I'm trying to figure out my way around the site. My life has been major drama for the past 7 years and since Jan. I am focusing on myself and my health.

I'm also new, might as well tell yas bit about myself while i'm here

age: 16
height: 5'9"
weight: 167Lbs
lifting since: 11 April 2005

I've been in the weights room for almost 6 months and since have gained 26Lbs. My origional goal was 175Lbs. but i'm gonna start cutting in 3 weeks so that looks very unlikely. Other interests are Pro Wrestling and Ultimate fight (UFC and Pride) and other sports. I started training because i had nothing to do when i came home from school. My training is all dumbells and i have never used anything other dumbells. I'm hoping to get up to about 190- 200Lbs with a low body fat % within the next few years...

I mite as well ask while i'm here. I'm about to start my first cutting phase and have a couple of questions...

1. How long should i cut for (I was thinking 14 weeks so i could do it over the summer and then start bulking when school starts again next year)

2. Will i lose muscle while i cut because i'm doing less resistance training and more cardio?

3. When i cut i was going to do cardio four times a week and resistance training twice a week (this means each muscle group will get one workout a week as i don't do full body workouts)...Is this ideal?

4. How should i alter my diet? Increase protein and decrease carbs?

5. At the moment i eat 6-7 times a day with a 2-3 hour gap between meals, is this ideal for cutting as well? If not, how should i change it?

Thanks in advance for the help!

1. thats what most ppl do, cut over the spring or summer and gain over the fall and winter. i follow that myself. gaining and summer just dont mix for me :D

2. with a proper meal plan and good training, you should not see a loss in muscle. when you lift, train for strength

3. IMO, try and even it out like 3X for each

4. most do well with lowering carb intake. keep your proteins and fats constant

5. that is very ideal all the time: cut, bulk, maintain, monday, wednesday, two weeks from tomorrow ;)

greetings

Hello to all online at the moment. Would any of you have any knowledge you could share on my present problem (can run uphill on threadmill for 45mins+ but cant control breathing outdoors)???? And best excercises to work muscles to do chin ups(can do 45-50press-ups)
