The Dream Thread

Just post some dreams you've had or remembered.

I'll go first:

Last night, I had a dream that I met Dave Tate. I guess he was in the security detail of some diplomat...or something. It was strange. I don't even read Dave Tate's articles that much.

I think there was something in there about Dave eating Oreo's...but I've since forgotten.

On a similar note, I will start keeping a dream journal next to my bed. Lol.

I've noticed that I'll have these dreams that I'll remember so vividly, wake up to a song that played in the midst of it, and then it gets stuck in my head the whole day. The second I step out of bed I download it and/or listen to it and have wonderful eargasms. These only happen during my afternoon naps after work.

I dreamt that my squash partner was waiting for me at the courts for 5 hours or something insane like that, anyway when I got there he smashed me in the face with his racquet, then I woke up :p

I've had the same dream since before I can even remember that I'm falling off a mountain... then I wake up and somehow or another my head is pointed down and my butt is in the air...almost like I'm falling... weird... lol

I had a dream that these guys where slowly walking towards me and a friend. They reach for thier guns and I pull out my Ruger SP101 and fire once only to miss the guy I was aiming at. I try to fire again but nothing happens. The rest of chambers are filled with empty cases. Then I woke up.

I dreamed like crazy last night but I can't remember right now. But a couple days ago I dreamt that I was at Trader Joes (a grocery store) carrying a jar of tomato sauce with the intention to buy it. I walked around with the sauce for a while and it was a pretty vivid dream. I could see the label and everything. Luckily I had the same sauce in my fridge so was able to eat some with veggies and chicken when I woke up.

As pathetic as it is I have a lot of food dreams. A lot of them have to do with carbs too. Like I'll be eating something that is super bad for you or I'll just be eating something that is good but has a lot of carbs and in my dream I'm on a no/low carb day and I'm thinking "Dear god what am I doing?! Today's not a high carb day!"

Then I'll wake up and it turns out I didn't destroy my diet :) Yay.

That is so an impotence dream. Hahahaha. :D

I've had the same series of 15 different dreams since I was a kid. It's really weird..it's like I have 15 movies to choose from in my head, and when I do remember what I was dreaming of (which is rare..maybe every other month, sometimes as infrequently as twice a year), it will almost always be one of these stories. Only, each time I have a particular one of these dreams, I'm a different character. And I always end up having some kind of crazy powers. Sometimes I even become aware that it's not real (without realizing that I'm asleep and dreaming) and experience a disconnect from my dream self.

I've been thinking of keeping a dream journal, myself, Lei. Ages ago I read about lucid dreaming..and the first step is supposedly to improve your dream memory. Mine's terrible. It's one of those things you always intend but never remember to do. :)

For a while I had more lucid dreams than not. I've always had some dreams where I was aware that I was dreaming since I was a kid. Then of course in the dream I either tried to change things or would be interested to see where it went on it's own. I didn't know it had a name until I got older. To tell you the truth I thought that everyone had lucid dreams.

I was lucid dreaming a lot during the first few weeks of Feb. I just had trouble dealing with the rush of power you get when you go lucid. I swear, I felt like a god, but I was always afraid what my own mind would pull on me...I didn't want to risk a lucid nightmare so I kept waking myself up. I guess I've got some issues I need to resolve before I can have wild and fun lucid dreams.

The feeling is like no other, though. Every time I went and thought, "hmmm, this is a dream." I would instantly become infinitely aware of everything in my dream world. I would usually then just take off flying straight out of a window or straight into the skies...it was awesome until I realized just how in control my mind was...then I'd get scared and wake myself up.

On another note, now that I'm back into my REM-deprived ways, when I go dash to my car in between classes to nap, I'll often experience sleep paralysis. In my mind, I try to keep myself alert so I don't oversleep, but my mind wants to sleep as heavy as possible. I've had some interesting hallucinations and struggles with myself in attempts to bring myself back to conciousness.

I once hallucinated that I was sleeping in my car, but I could fly out of my body and meet other people who were sleeping in their cars...another experience I had was when I thought I overslept for an entire hour, as my body was paralyzed, yet I could move my eyes and read the clock on my dash. I tried convincing myself I wasn't dreaming by reading the license plates of the cars parked near me, when in actuallity I was totally hallucinating/dreaming.

Omg, this sounds just like me. I HATE sleep paralysis and I'm happy that it rarely happens to me. One of the worst times was when I spent the night at a friend's apartment. I "woke" up in the bed with my eyes open and could hear rumaging going on in his living room (even though no one was home). I saw the shadow of the intruder and everything but I couldn't move or scream. I was trying so hard to scream but nothing was coming out except a little scratching of the throat. God that was scary. I finally was able to scream and that somehow snapped me out of whatever I was "hallucinating, dreaming" and then I realized it wasn't real and I was alone.

The mind is a weird thing.

I have the same two dreams over and over again.

One is water...always some sort of water. Ocean, pools, tubs. I'm afraid of dying then I realize I can breathe under water. Or trying to survive GIANT waves. Sometimes I can see them while in the water and I try to outrun it, other times I'm already out and I can see it building.

The other one is horses. I've got a horse, I remember thinking it isn't mine but it's gotten away from me and I'm trying to catch it.

Once I dreamt I got killed while trying to get away from an intruder. He shot me in the mouth while I gasped and I could feel the warmth of the blood flowing inside my throat (in my dream) and I remember my vision fading away like a circle dimming from the outside in. Then I woke up.

I always have this weird premonition that I'm going to drown to death or drowned in a previous life LOL-if there's such a thing...

I haven't remembered any dreams lately, but for awhile I kept having similar dreams. I was always with someone, and we were in some random place, an office complex, or a big fancy hotel, and a bunch of dudes with assault rifles were coming for us. I almost always ended up alone at some point in the dream, one time I was in the bed of a dump truck in the hotel parking lot when I got found...haha
