I trained in the past with with great success with plain old GNC brand effervescent creatine which GNC apparently no longer makes.

I am getting back into training now and am wondering if there are any brands to stay away from etc.?
 
make sure it's creapure. Many different brands will use this, but as long as you're getting creatine monohydrate and it's creapure, the company doesn't matter.

Vitacost.com has a good deal by NSI. 5000mg for about 22 bucks I think.
 
yep. 100% pure creatine monohydrate, preferably carrying the CreaPure processing label. CreaPure is just the 'best', cleanest, purest method of producing monohydrate.

AtLarge Nutrition, Optimum Nutrition, and many other brands carry the CreaPure stamp. 500grams for $15 is about the norm for online prices.
 
I have been using Creatine EE with good results. I forget what the name of the brand is, but I'll take a look when I get home.
