Accurately measuring body fat is impossible without access to a person who is really trained in caliper measurement (knowing exactly where to pinch and how tightly to close the calipers). Measurements with electrical resistance (some scales have this built in) have plus or minus 10% accuracy.
If I use an online calculator, it tells me that I have 9.9% body fat now. Try it yourself at
My data:
Height: 177 cm
Weight: 74.9 kg
Waist: 81 cm
Neck: 42 cm
Sex: Male
Activity: moderate
I know this 9.9% body fat is not true because I still have flab on the abs and upper thighs. At less than 10%, there would be no flab at all and the depth of the navel would be about 1/4" while standing up straight. Currently, I have about 1" navel depth while standing up straight (measured with the tip of a screwdriver, as a ruler is too big to fit inside), putting my body fat percentage (at my estimation) somewhere between 15-20%.
