Hi everyone,
'Glad to be here.
I was invited by a moderator to post in the newcomers group

My name is James.
I used to be a skinny little boy, an athletic teenager, and then obesity struck.
At the peak I weighed 375, then I dropped to 285, and now I'm 320

My goal is you shed all the fat, enjoy getting there, and feeling great when I do.

Personally I believe in the use if supplements. Of course a daily multi-vitamin.

Lots of great things I'm not quite doing yet; but I have most recently began a 10min workout everyday.
Plus I drink a gallon of water a day.

Reaching under 300 again would be awesome.
And eventually I want to be closer to 200 again.

I'm thinking of floating around this site for a while, 'looks good
So I will see you there.
:)

Hi, James & welcome to the forum. I like that part of your plan is enjoying getting down to your goal weight. I would love to get back down to mine too, but this time stay there forever. It will be interesting to follow your progress :)

Thanks, Cate!
Let's do this.

Hi James and welcome!
Enjoying the process sounds like a great way to ensure you'll develop habits that can help you be successful long-term. You've already shown that you've got the willpower, now you just need the time and the habits. Best of luck!

Yeah, and why not? Losing weight sounds exhilarating.
So far the habits I'm doing are: drinking a gallon of water a day, and doing a 10min physical exercise.
Thank you!

Drinking more water and moving more are good first steps. How's the food you're eating? Do you keep track of calories at all?

I've been ordering out a lot lately, and I don't keep track of calories.
:-\
But I just recently started the water and exercise, and plan to tackle dieting later
Mostly the problem is I live in a place where they cook for me, so I don't have much control over what I'm eating

That does make it harder to keep control - and there's nothing wrong with just moving more and drinking more water and seeing where that gets you - but in most places it's not a problem to get a larger helping of veggies and a smaller of carbs, for example. And if you order take-away that gives you at least some control as well. Whatever you decide to do it's good to have you on board and if you keep sight of your goals I'm sure you'll find the right method for you.

Sounds keto-friendly! :)
So far water and exercise is all I can stick with--without getting overwhelmed and quitting.
But I'm doing mental and spiritual exercises too

I think it's great that you know what your body and mind will take right now and that you listen to that!

:) Thank you.
I did just add some pushups, squats, etc. to my daily workout.
Day 1 at least
'Thinking I can make it daily.

I see in your signature you say, "A half-way decent diet you can sustain long-term beats a perfect one you can't stick to. "
I'm thinking that in terms of exercise; wall pushups and rocky squats will be something I can stick to for starters, whereas an overly ambitious work out routine up front, may not likely be something I'd see through.

That´s great to hear! A bit of soreness is ok, but don´t overdo it. Weightloss products tend to be scams, unless all they promise is a bit of motivation, but if it helps you that´s fine :)

I'm only expecting it to be a supplement, not a complete solution. It was only $10 for a 30-day bottle, so I thought it was worth a try.

Sweet. And I'm going to follow a keto diet, to the best of my ability (because meals are prepared by staff). What I can do though, is ask them no rice, etc., and score more protein for 2nds if I'm still hungry

Even if it isn´t quite keto you can still do low-carb. Get your veggies in and don´t overdo it on the rice/pasta/potatoes/bread.
