Teenage Weight Loss

Hi, I'm Mia, a sophomore in high school. I haven't always felt so insecure about myself, in fact, I was pretty confident. Weight has always been a struggle for myself and I want to improve on it. When I was around 13-14 years old I would try dangerous methods of weight loss that resulted in me just gaining the weight + more back. To this day (March 18th, 2017) I am 227.0 lbs. I want to do this for my health, and my confidence.

STATS:

Height: 5'7
Age: 15
Start weight: 227.0 lbs
Goal weight: 165.0 lbs

Questions:

1. My current height is 5'7 and my current weight is 227.0 lbs
2. If I were at my ideal weight for my height I would be 123-147 lbs.
3. In four months I would like to be around 170 lbs.
4. I want to lose weight because I want to be comfortable in my own skin, confident, and overall I want to be healthy. Obesity runs in my family and I do not want to have any complications due to weight in the future.
5. I don't want to lose weight for any specific event, rather just to be healthy.
6. My love for unhealthy foods and drinks could get in the way of my weight loss, lack of motivation to continue, as well as self-doubt, might also get into the way of my weight loss.
7. I know I have a weight problem because I am overweight. I have an unhealthy relationship with food which is also why I know I have a weight problem.
8. Consistency is the key factor to my weight loss. I need to keep on schedule with my workouts and be eating the appropriate amount. Cutting out sugary drinks from my diet will also help out with weight loss.
9. I have lost weight in the past. My highest at the time was 215 lbs. Seeing that number on the scale as well as seeing it decrease encouraged me to keep going. Knowing that there's only one way to know just how I'll feel after losing x amount of weight is what pushed me to reach that goal. I felt so confident at the 180 to 170 lb mark, I could only imagine how 160 lbs, my ultimate weight loss goal will feel.
10. I didn't manage to keep the weight off because I wasn't eating enough. Not nourishing your body will cause it to want to splurge, which caused me to give up and gain everything back.
11. Starving didn't help me to lose weight--it did temporarily, but not feeding my body enough only resulted in weight gain.
12. I have tried keeping a log of all the foods I eat when eating healthy which has proven to help in the past. I wouldn't mind doing it again.
13. I usually eat what my mom prepares. When eating healthy I purchase salads, veggie burgers, etc.
14. I eat out pretty often which is the culprit for the weight gain. I would eat food from nearby deli's, or eat things like McDonald's with some friends.
15. My three favorite foods are sandwiches, Chinese food, and/or pizza.
16. My three favorite restaurants are Red Lobster, BBQs and Buffalo Wild Wings.
17. I could attempt to make these meals at home in order to create a healthier version of them.
18. If I woke up the next day with my body the way I wanted it, I would probably be way more confident and would approach my crush :)
19. I always eat when I'm not hungry. Food is my guilty pleasure.
20. I've binge ate in the past but I hate the way I feel after it. It's sickening and makes me feel worst about myself.
21. I have hidden my food and I have eaten in secret in the past but for specific reasons and I don't do so often.
22. I tend to eat when I'm sad and lonely, but don't need to do so to feel better.
23. I used to eat as a reward but really want to stop.
24. I do eat while watching TV or using the computer often.
25. Normally my meals contain bread and some sort of sugary drink.
26. I tend to eat salty snacks like chips, or sweet ones like ice cream and/or small pastries.
27. Speed walking is my main form of exercise and is the exercise I'm currently doing.
28. To exercise I go to a public gym.
29. My favorite type of exercise is speed walking and working out my legs.
30. My daily motivation is pictures of how I want my body to look and knowing that progress is slow and will kick in. My weekly-monthly motivation is the results I see in myself (lose pants, clothes look better.)
31. When I reach a certain goal weight I'll do something for myself like have a spa day or a shopping day, or I'll treat myself to some nice clothes to accommodate my new weight loss.

Well that's it for now guys! I hope you'll join me on my weight loss. My next post will be about goals and the days I want to acheive them. I may even throw in a couple of awards for myself when the time is right, but NOT FOOD. It ruins the purpose lol.

Welcome to the forum! First off, I would suggest making a similar post to this in the diary section. It's much more active and there are a lot of very kind and helpful people who frequent it. Secondly, I think a lot of your goals are pretty good, but the speed at which you want to lose weight is not very realistic or healthy. Losing from your start weight down to 170 in four months would have you losing just a bit more than 3.5 lbs per week. Most doctors don't recommend you go above 2 lbs per week at a max. Anything more than that is likely to be unsustainable and could be detrimental to your health.
