Teen looking to loose weight!

Hello! I wanted to share my weight loss plan with you guys and to see if it is a good plan for my goal.

I'm a 5'9, 195lb 17 year old Male and my goal is to loose 25 lbs by August 20th, my first day of College. I just graduated the other day and I decided to have a plan to loose weight.

Being a Floridian, I have a pool in my backyard and I've decided to do freestyle swimming + breaststroke for an 1-2 hours a day and I have cut my calorie intake to about 1,050 a day. In the morning what I eat includes eggs and toast, lunch is a banana and apples, and dinner is a salad and fruit (I thoroughly enjoy fruit as you can tell).

Here's the trick - I can't run, I shattered my left ankle in 2011 when I was a junior by accident, I can swim because it allows me to put more focus on my upper body than any cardo without putting stress on my ankle.

My question is will I achieve my goal of 25lbs by August 20th? I would appreciate a thorough response, thanks!

A850 calories is way to low without medical supervision and I don't see much in the way of protein in your diet which is esential for maintaining muscle mass, especially if you insist on such a severe cut in calories.

I'm sorry, I hadn't noticed the typo, it's 1,050. Why I put 850 I don't know.

Heya, you probably want to be eating closer to 1800-2000 calories a day to loose weight. The swimming you are doing is great, it will raise the metabolism and HR which will most definately help.

ps. Ignore people above trying to sell you stuff - its better to stick with science and proven methods than try hard quick fix

Amaintenance for a 195 lb 17 year old male is approximately 9045 kj = 2161 calories

dropping 500 per day from that puts the estimated starting point for weight loss at 1661 not modified for exercise or lifestyle (sedentary, light, moderate, heavy etc)

of course these are always estimates because individuals do have different rates of metabolism but it is a safe starting point which can then be modified through trial and error

source for my starting numbers comes from Recommended Nutrient Intakes, NHMRC, Australia but most countries are similar with recommendations.

Thanks! And yea, I knew that as soon as I saw it that he wasn't going to offer any meaningful adice.
