Taking dextrose AND creatine

Is it right to just take one or the other, ill be honest and say i forget what dextrose actually is and what its best used for. I do remember reading only to take one or the other

Also re: creatine. Are the creatine tablets worth having or is powder form how it should be taken? I've not seen it in powder form anywhere in my town.
One other thing is...The water retention that arises from taking creatine, will it make a difference to my physical appearance?

Cheers,
Dan

Sorry I don't know a whole lot about this, but I can tell you that you'll notice a difference physically. I just started taking it 5 days ago, and I can already tell a small difference. Most people I ask say they noticed a significant difference after 1-2 weeks, but it takes longer for some. I take the tablets.

i felt a difference by consuming creatine after 2 days.

you really do feel your body swell (volumize) up due to the extra water retention.

powder is cheaper, and i don't like taking tablets/pills because i'd prefer powder if there is such the option :)

Isn't creatine bad for you though? I was sick today so i couldnt go to school and i was watching a show called "superhuman strength" on the science channel. pretty interesting stuff, but they talked about steroids and said creatine tablets/powder was a derivative of injection steroids, and was basically a derivative of testosterone; it basically works like steroids, but not as extreme. Mark Mcgwire took creatine pills as well, and although the MLB didn't ban him (cretine is legal), he got hell for it. However, since there hasnt been any fundamental research on creatine/steroid derivatives, the FDA cannot ban/accept it. Therefore, its legal.

Dextrose is a simple carb and great for post workout.

Some Creatine powders have that in i believe or something similar.

Creatine isnt bad for you at all. Its naturally in our bodies but in small quantaties. Red meat is good for genarating protein in the body. Keep to the doses and if you have any side effects stop.

To be brutally honest at 150-170 lbs creatine should be last on your wish lists if your bulking up. Eat whole foods.

thanks for clearing that up; the concept of creatine was always a bit cloudy to me. What foods can dextrose be found in? Does dextrose sugar have any relation with this simple carb, or is it just a coincidence that they both share the word dextrose?

Dextrose = corn sugar = simple carb

and its VERY COMMON to take creatine with dextrose...i'm not sure where you think you read they shouldn't be combined...but don't go there anymore.

dextrose replenishes muscle glycogen after a workout. it also spikes insulin, which makes it easier for creatine to work on you.

try monohydrate, if you feel bloated, switch to CEE.
