I will never eat canned veggies again! I read about the enormous difference in sodium between frozen veggies and canned, so I checked it out...one serving of frozen corn(or peas) has 10 mg of sodium. one serving of canned corn (or peas) has...get this...240 mg!!! Can you believe it!

I almost always buy my veggies frozen in bags. That way you can take out the amount you need and put the rest back in the freezer, they are much better than no salt veggies in the can :eek: I will say though I do also buy fresh veggies depending what it is..

If you drain off the water in canned veggies, you remove most of the sodium (as well as the nutrients). If you rinse them, then the majority of the sodium has been removed. Canned veggies are a great alternative when you don't have alot of money, as long as you drain them.
