Sups question

Hi all

Have had a good read through this section. But I am busting to ask a question.

I have recently started a training program after 7 months of just lifting free weights and benching a couple of times a week in no real program.

But now I am on the program (and loving it) I asked my Personal Trainer (works with me but studies it, smart guy) if I could take any powders etc to help me out.

He said at this point I don't need any, but If I did want one I should get something low carb.

So I bought this stuff "SLM Fat Metabolising Formula" from Musashi.

It contains 20 g protein per serve.

Here is some info from a website on it.

---------------------------------------
Musashi SLM Fat Metabolising Formula is for use in a weight reduction program. Containing the nutrients L-Carnitine, Yerba Mate, Garcinia Quasita, and powerful lipotropics Choline, Inositol and Methionine, emphasis is based on the constant mobilising of fat stores, allowing them to be used as a source of energy. Low level addition of carbohydrates provide energy while also assisting the absorption and uptake of the fat metabolising nutrients.

For those who want extra fat burning capacity, combine with either the powdered or capsule form of Musashi Fat Metaboliser or L- Carnitine.

Women of all ages have long experienced the health benefits of increased protein levels in their diet. Whether you have A demanding career, are a busy mum, an exercise guru, or simply struggling with a hectic lifestyle, Musashi SLM protein range has a perfect formula for you.
Increased protein intake helps to stimulate your natural metabolism, assisting in the reduction of fat stores – helping you to look and feel fantastic. Musashi SLM protein blends not only help the shedding of unwanted kilos, but also provide high protein levels essential for healthy hair, skin and nails. With an improved immune system and increased energy levels, your favourite SLM protein formula will have you feeling fit and fabulous.
Recent research by the CSIRO (“The Total Wellbeing Diet”) showed that a diet higher in protein is not only safe, but also desirable in helping women to lose weight. They found that the higher protein diet resulted in significantly more weight loss than the higher carbohydrate diet. Even better was that the high protein diet group noted significant weight loss around the midriff! The CSIRO has also concluded that Meal Replacement formulas are an effective weight management tool.

Its a protein powder?

Its a protein powder, with a healthy addition of marketing added.

when it runs out, just get a tub of Optimum Nutition 100% whey, or Nitrean from Atlargenutrition.com

It conatins 20g protein per serve.

When I stated I needed to close my nose with my fingers. Last night I had some after workout with low fat milk and it was tops.

Ha Ha Ha... Next time get a sample before shelling out on something like that. Also get regular whey protein which comes in a variety of flavors or even unsweetened. Protein powder is just protein in a convenient form so consider natural sources like chicken, tuna, nuts, fish, meat etc.

Thanks guys! I thought nobody had responded to this thread.

I was wondering, when should I take it though, after training or before? In my mid morning meals or as a replacement meal?

It does not say on the label.

When it runs out I will ask you guys what you think, I note the Whey comment.

You can take it anytime really. Only when eating something is absolutely impossible. Try this as well: http://training.fitness.com/healthy-recipes/what-do-you-think-smoothie-33239.html
