supplements to get bigger, faster, maybe even skinnier.

Okay, I will try to provide as much info as possible. I am currently 17 and a senior in highschool. I LOVE working out, I think it is sooooo fun and the results are great. But I really want to get pretty big within 6months. I used to lift quite a lot (for a kid my age I mean), but I quit for a while and just started again 3 weeks ago. I have been lifting every muscle for about 2 hours a day but I have been somewhat lazy on the cardio (bc its so damn cold outside and I HATE THE TREADMILL AND EXERCISE BIKES), but I will be doing a triathlon this June so that will probably take about another 2 hours a day. So within the next several weeks I should be working out 4-5hours a day.

But anyway, currently I am taking creatine/ribose, glutamine and whey protein. I also drink slim fast and gatorade for vitamin and mineral rehydration. Since I lift 2 hours a day (about half are endurance sets, half strength) should I be taking 1 or 2 servings of the protein first off? (26/52grams) Also, I am considering going off of the creatine bc of the health consequences I've heard involved with it. Is there any other supplements anyone would recommend? I saw nitro on the shelf is that stuff any good?

Like I said, I am also trying to burn some fat off. I am currently a 5'9, 150 pounds and a 30inch waist, but I am hoping to burn off some fat and get myself down to a 28 waist. Would cutting back on food hurt me on the weight lifting department though? When I say cutting back btw I mean around 2500 a day, but that is like a damn starvation diet for me who ate 4000 a day when I stopped exercising and weighed a lean 135. (so ya I've put on 15pounds of muscle in the last 3 weeks, bc I havent gained an inch of fat) I've really noticed the power of those supplements I am taking though.

I do not need help on specific workouts, as I feel I am very experienced in this matter, I more need help on my diet and what I should be eating for maximum results.

Eat 5 or 6 meals per day each with meat dairy or eggs, fruits or vegetables and complex carbs.

Supplements other than protein powder and simple carbs for post workout are pretty much a waste of money imo. Some of them will help, but its real food that is going to do the most.

Dude, your a kid, but you still need to get your focus on straight. And I mean this in a positive way.

Want to get big in 6 months? NO PROBLEM. You can... infact you can get big in 3 months if you follow what I tell ya.

1st. STOP working out so much. 2 hours a day? Are you insane... you know that you're actually getting SMALLER. MOST of your growth takes place when you SLEEP (Hint: Recovery)... NOT in the gym. One hour workouts max.

Also, you only need to workout 3 MAYBE 4 times a week. So did you get that? 3-4 hours per week to be in the best shape of your life. Or the shape that YOU want in life... whatever, same thing. That also means try not to workout (especially big muscle groups) back to back. Leave a day in between for rest.

2nd JUST EAT. You WILL gain a slight amount of fat along the way, that's just natural, you can cut down after. Right now just eat.

Since you're 17 here are a list of foods you should be buying EVERY WEEK in mass quantities because you should be eating them so much.

POOR MAN'S "GET BIG" SUPPLEMENTS: Tuna, Chicken, Peanut Butter, Eggs, Oatmeal, Red Kidney Beans, Bananas, Apples, Tofu.

And you can throw in Isolate Whey Protein And Creatine to kick it up a notch. That's all there is to it dude. Getting big just takes some time and plunging mass quantities of food down your throat. There is no secret, just action!

Ok, now crush it!

Good luck

I do agree that hanburger is cheap, and i agree that is not too good for you.

On the other hand, Top Round London Broil was on sale for 1.79 in the supermarket two weeks ago. Very cheap, low in fat, high in protien, healthy, plus ITS BEEF!

One more note about the list, tuna... Tuna isnt really that cheap, it is convenient, but not cheap. Canned salmon is much cheaper, canned mackeral, cheaper, saridines, cheaper...all three of these have a lower mercury level than tuna, these are higher in fats, but its the GOOD fats.

also

Tofu=soy=not for me

Everything else on the list, i totally agree with!

thanks guys, but the thing about only working out 1 hour a day... I dont get sore. Prolly bc I'm a kid or something. Like I did 20sets of EVERY MUSCLE PRETTY MUCH 2days ago and I wasnt even sore the next day. And I mean like practically burn outs every set. I did mostly sets of 10-12, but I also did some sets of 50-100 which KILL. But nonetheless after lifting for 4 hours, I wasnt even sore the next day... I really like the food suggestions though, I really appreciate that, but I think that I need to workout at least 2 hours for me... Thank you

You're not supposed to be sore after training. That only happens when you're new to a routine and starts to go away as you get used to what you're doing..

Lean beef can get expensive. Poor men can only afford fatty hamburger, maybe that is why beef didn't make the Poor man's supplement list.

YUP! You got it! Lean beef isn't cheap. But if you can afford it, it's def good sheeet!
I figured the kid's 17 and he might want to have some cash left over to spend elsewhere. Tough times were living in here...

Lifting for 4 hours? I told you to cut down your time and you're doubling it. *Sigh*... some people like learning the hard way. And sets of 50-100? Is that reps? Why are you able to pull off rep ranges that high? what are you Lifting... packets of feather?

Clarify me on that... I could be wrong.

haha, na I'm just doing a light weight to build endurance is all haha. But ya, like you said I will prolly be decreasing to like 9sets a day for each muscle so only 1.5hours (which is close to your 1 hour suggestion). And ya, the eco does suck right now, my parents are making me pay for EVERYTHING. sigh.

If you want to get big, you need to put some heavy weight on the bar and get it pumpin. 50-100 reps on anything isn't gonna get you much muscle mass. It's just like marathon runners, they tend to have really skinny legs because they don't actually tear the muscles. And as we all know tearing the muscle builds it up.

Do heavier weight = )

Dude, you really need to listen to these people. They have personal experience and the scientific laws of biology backing up what they're saying.

What you're doing is wrong. 50-100 reps? 9 sets? The most sets you should be logically doing is 5 sets, and that's only 5 reps per set.

Increase the weight, lower the reps. You're not "training for endurance" by doing 50-100 reps of anything, you're just making yourself tired. That's it. Over 12 reps is too much, period.

Just listen to these people - they know what they're talking about.
