Supplements Optional?

Are supplements and vitamins optional? Is there a way that I could get all my vitamins and nurtient from the food I eat instead of taking supplements and stuff. I don't plan on being a professional body builder nor a weight lifter. I just want to build myself for martial arts and to maintain a normal health level.
 
Yes, they are optional. Hence the term 'supplement'...meaning "in addition to or in place of"

There's only a few supplements even worth your time in the first place.
I do suggest a daily multivitamin...nothing fancy. Consider it insurance that you're getting all you need.
 
That's why we should be aware when we hear about "must-have" supplements.

There are no such thing.

Take them to assist a well thought out meal plan like a multi, EFA's, protein powder, etc. :)
 
I agree that a good mulit would be the only thing you 'should' have.. everything else can be obtained in a not-so bad diet
