Supplements for vegetarians

Can someone suggest a really good supplement for vegetarians? One with protein that is not an animal by-product and low in calories/fat (as much as possible).

I’m a total newb to supplements...so bear with me if I sound clueless. Because I am!

soy protein

I assume your a vegan, otherwise egg whites and whey could be an option.

Soy is good, whey is better. Whey comes from milk, of course, so like Incitatus said - if you're vegan, go soy.

You may want to try Flax Seed Oil for your essential fatty acids (EFA's).

There are a number of nutritional supplements, just really depends on your goals.

Im not a vegan.

My goal right now is fat loss, while toning and gaining some muscle. I walk (because I cannot run because of an old hip injury) moderately to vig. everyday for an hour and half. I weight train, and then switch major muscle group exercises daily. The weekends I usually just walk, but I am very active around the house.

Once I have fat loss, then I would like to gain long lean muscles and define my arms/legs...and so on.

I am open to Whey. Any brands I should try and ones I should stay away from?

Anything else I should be looking at? Right now I am eating a clean diet and taking a multi vitamin. That's it.

I know for a fact I am not getting enough protein.

If fat loss is your goal, you'll want to go with a thermogenic (e.g., xenadrine). There are stimulant (energy producing) and non-stimulant (non-energy producing) thermogenics. The most popular non-energy producing ones are CLA and Pyruvate.

Thermogenics make you burn more calories, thus aiding in weight loss.

You can also order them online, if that's more convenient.
