Supplements for better health?

I think my coworker says they use Pantothenic Acid, or something that sounds like that, to improve immunity - does anyone know anything aboutit?

Thanks.

All the B vitamins are important for immune system, heres from the Pauling Institute (named for Dr Pauling who has won a Nobel in Chemistry, he's the number one man for vitamin C preventing/treating colds) about Pantothenic Acid Specifically, Doesn;t mention Immune system here though.

I know that many body piercers and tattoo artists recommend Zinc for faster healing and it has been shown to boost the immune system so if you are looking to boost the immune system word on the street would be Zinc. I'd say a good multivitamin, healthy diet, exercise and enough sleep and you will get your immune system about as high as you can.

Pantothenic acid AKA B5

Invloved in energy production, controls fat metabolism. Essential for brain and nerves. Helps make anti-stress hormones (steroids). Maintains healthy skin and hair.

Nothing about immune system.

I think zinc does have some effect on the immune system but it's not that great. One of the main things it is used in is skin, for skin healing and quality of skin which is why body piercers and tatooist recommend it.

If you want to boost your immune system vitamin C is the most important, 2-3 grams daily. A combination of antioxidants, vit A, vit E, B6, zinc and selenium helps as well. Other supplements that would be helpfull are Cat's Claw tea with ginger, echinacea and grapefruit seed extract. You'll also want a good high strength muvtivitamin and mineral, deficiency of most nutrients will adversly effect your immune system.
