Hi everyone - recognise lots of lovely faces from my many (maaaany) years on WLF. I had a baby boy 5 months ago and am ready to get back into shape! I'm currently 210lbs (eek!) at 5'10. Will be logging food and attempting to post on here daily but obviously have my hands full with baby L! I'm going back to work in January and would love to be well on my way by then as I don't want to buy new clothes!

Starting weight: 210lbs
Goal weight: 170lbs

Here I am at a few weeks pregnant and a few months ago post baby at a wedding! (and one with baby bump for good luck!) Looking forward to catching up with you all.

H xo

good to see you back :)

Cate - I have missed your gentle wisdom! Will have a look for your diary <3
Thanks Tru - hope you have been well!

How nice to hear from you again! You look great in all three pictures and I´m sure you´ll get down to the weight you want to be asap. Congratulations on your baby boy :grouphug:

Nice to see you back again. Congratulations on the baby boy. I agree with LaMa - you look fantastic!! You have been down this road before- you won't have any problems losing the weight again.

Hi LaMa - thank you, he is rather delicious. I've not enjoyed the mummy cliques very much though!

Hey Cowboy, long time no see! Thank you. I love post-baby bod but want to be healthy for my little one and 210lbs is not healthy at all for me! I appreciate the vote of confidence xo

Day 1 - 16/10/19 - Weight: 210lbs

Breakfast: No added sugar spaghetti hoops on one small slice of Yank's homemade bread (167)
Lunch: Baked potato, cheese and baked beans, no butter (355), 1 small slice of my Grama's cherry cake (135)
Dinner: home made tacos with avocado, 5% fat beef mince, seasoning, lettuce, grated cheese and lime (734)
Snacks: cheese string (62) pack of quavers (86)

Total: 1522

Exercise: Took baby L swimming..not a great deal of exercise from me but was great fun!

Yank burned his hand quite badly at work today so me and L picked him up mid morning. I took L swimming and met a friend for lunch out (but avoided trouble with a baked potato!). The problem with maternity leave is that a great deal of my plans seem to revolve around food...lots of beach walks as well, and fun activities, but a lot of coffee/cake/eating out. I'm hoping I will make smart choices if I'm being accountable here.

Please do, if only to make sure your milk is as nourishing as it can be. I have heard that milk takes absolute precedent for your body though, so anything it can't get from your food it'll leech from your body.

Sunflower! So glad you're back. I mean that from the perspective of enjoying reading your posts :).

You look lovely in your photos and I'm sure you'll reach your goal weight again soon.

Tell me more about the mummy cliques. I always imagine that would be the worst thing if I ever have kids, lol.

And yes, whenever I have time off work, lunch out and cafes seem to be the default thing. And the pub of course, but that probably doesn't factor in for you as much for now.

Hi Sumflower your photos look great or I should say you look great in those pics .
I’m a huge fan of baked potatoes .
Congrats on the baby and make sure you enjoy the rest of the maternity leave . Yeah mummy cliques are best avoided !!!

Hey Sunflower, thanks for the kind words on my diary, this place has been good for me.

As I am sure you know this is a great place for advice and support for weight loss, I am looking forward to reading about your progress.

Congrats on the baby!

Hello again! Lovely to get to know you a bit, and especially pleasant to hear about baby L, and happy times at the beach - which sounds simply gorgeous! (Though now I've reread, I see you said "swimming" - so maybe it was a pool, not the beach - either way, wonderful fun!)
How long will maternity leave last?

LaMa - yes, I notice a decline in the quality if I am not eating as well. I'm slowly weaning him (messy but fun!) but he still feeds plenty. I know it also burns between 200 and 500 calories a day.

Thanks for the warm welcome back, folks. Always love the support here, such a lovely bunch <3

Em and Petal - the mummy cliques are the worst. I just hate the competitiveness of it all.."oh, is your baby not doing x, y and z yet?" I've only just stopped having a morning nap with L and forget to brush my hair most days, haha!

Aimingggglow - hello, lovely! Yes, we are about a 5 min walk from the beach but it's too cold past August to swim (I think so, anyway!) so went to our local pool. They also have a creche there so I can swim alone if I'd like..very relaxing!

So yesterday was a good first start. I do find the evenings difficult., though. I always fancy a glass of wine once L is in bed and Yank got the salted caramel M&Ms out whilst we were watching Scary Movies to Tell in the Dark (which was appallingly bad) and I had to try very hard to resist! Feel good this morning..Was a difficult night with L sleep wise though. He was up at 01:30 and then again at 05:00 wide awake.. had to bring him into bed with me to steal another hours kip this morning before we got up at 7ish. Much better than he was though..it used to be waking every 90 mins all night every night. Not sure how I survived that stage for 4.5 months. Anyway, baby talk over!

Today my friend has cancelled lunch plans so I've put a baked potato (love a potatooo) in the oven to have at lunch time with some beans. I have another friend coming over tonight to watch Ru Paul UK and Yank is making home-made pizzas. We don't use a ton of cheese but it will still be a calorific meal so going to be very sensible during the day today. The weather is absolutely crap. I've been lucky having L in time for the Summer as it was glorious going to the park and beach every day in the sun. Never mind - snuggles and movies today which will be just as lovely.

I'm also waiting for my manager to email me back regarding my working hours when I return in January. Feeling a bit anxious as I know they want me full-time but I would like to do 4 days. So hard to know what is right to do. Yank is finishing work in early Dec so we have a month off together (going to Estonia and Krakow) and then he will be a stay at home dad and work a few evenings when I go back to my job.

Will post food and weigh in later.

Happy Thursday, friends xo

I never know how new parents survive sleeplessness either: I just slept ten hours each for five nights in a row and I wasn´t even sleep deprived before! You have my respect :)

LaMa you actually get used to it .
Sunflowerx have lots of salad with your pizza and it will help. I hope you get your 4 days. Are you in the uk ? Can you use parental leave for the days off ?

LaMa - I was like the walking dead! It's the most serious form of torture.. I thought I had been tired before but nothing could prepare me. I fed the cats my lunch once and served myself up cat food.. luckily I noticed before I tucked in!!

Day 2 - 17/10/19 - Weight: 208lbs

Breakfast: Banana, chopped carrots (173)
Lunch: baked potato with low-sugar baked beans (409)
Dinner: Yank's homemade pizza bases with moz, pepperoni, sweetcorn, mushrooms and peppers (828)
Snacks: all of the wine (555) salty popcorn (130)

Total: 2074 (oops..)
Exercise: a walk with L in between showers.

Oh, Han- It's so lovely having you back. The tiredness you experience with a baby is almost impossible to describe. Nothing can prepare you for it. Breastfeeding makes it so much better though. I don't know how people manage with bottles. Swimming sounds wonderful & with a creche? Lovely.

Your food sounds lovely and how nice to have homemade pizza
