I want to start working out, dieting, and all the good stuff. The problem is it says to eat at least 6 small meals a day but since I am only 16 school interferes and I can only have 1 meal during it.

What are your suggestions?

Make shakes and take them to school in rubbermaid containers. If I begin to train a high schooler in the near future, you better believe that he is going to be lugging around a backpack cooler with shakes...
 
hey man im in hs also and idk if your allowed to have snacks in class, but have something nice in the morning than just spread it out a few hours inbetween the day. maybe like 7 10 1 330-4 and the day is over it cant be that bad
 
Well usually I don't eat in the morning or at lunch due to the fact that I have a sensitive stomach and would rather not upset it.

We aren't allowed to have any snacks in class, my school is way to strict.
 
well thats tough than can u bring some snacks and ask to go to the bathroom during class at a ceratin time each day and go have that snack really fast lol cuz you really do ahve to spread out ur meals unless you do 3 big meals a day but than u have to have breakfast and lunch as well
 
Take down a protein shake before class. It should take less then a minute. And I think most schools would give you 5-10 minutes to get to your next class. I always get a big breakfest in the morning, eat some peanuts in second period and then lunch 3-4 hours late then come home and eat another meal.
 
Better yet why don't I eat protein bars? Anyone suggest any good ones i can pick up at a local grocery store?

Good luck finding one that does not contain any crap(meaning ingredients that negatively effect's ones health).
Not saying that don't exist its just the ratio of those that are bad to those that are good is quite high.

Don't forget " 6 small meals a day " means from the time you get up in the morning till the time you go to bed.

The general rule is to try and eat something ( i.e snack / meal ) every 2.5 -3 hours and time nutrition before and after training as well. A bit more info might help.............

- What time of day do you start your first class in the morning ?

- What time of day does your lunch start ?

- What time of day does you last class end ?

- What time of day do you train - and when do you finish ?

I wake up at 5:45 AM but if I am gonna eat breakfast I will get up at least 5:30AM .

I leave for the bus at 6:30 AM . Start my first class at 7:11 AM.

Lunch starts at 11:53 AM

- What time of day does you last class end ?
Last class ends at 2:27 and I get home at 3:05.

- What time of day do you train - and when do you finish ?
I am thinking about training either when I get home or either 6-7 PM.

See my own problem is 2nd period my teacher loves to write up kids who eat in class and I already have after school detention because she doesn't like me. So whatever I do wrong is her chance to get at me.

Monitors walk the hall constantly and take away what ever food / drinks that you have.

Good info. Will something along these lines work ?


1) Breakfast .....................................6:00 a.m.

2) Snack ( after first class ? )...............9:00 a.m.

3) Lunch ..........................................12 noon

4) Snack ( after school @ home ) ..........3:15 p.m.

5) Snack ( very light Pre-Workout ) .......5:30 p.m


WORKOUT 6:30 - 7:30​


6) Meal ( Post- workout ) .....................7:45 p.m.

7) Snack ( very light)...........................10:00 p.m.
