Sport Stupid Question

Ok, I think I know the answer to this, but is all oatmeal made from the whole grain?

I assumed so, but I noticed the container of quick oats I have doesn't mention the word "whole" anywhere on it. The ingredients say "100% natural rolled oats"

...and I know the GI is a little higher for quick oats, but does anyone have a strong opinion as to whether this is a big deal (especially since I put PB in it which should slow down absorption with the added fats.)

Check the ingredients, if it doesn't list whole grain then no. Just because it says 100% natural rolled oats doesn't mean its whole grain

I just checked the Ingredients for all types of QUaker Oatmeal(I assume you use that kind??)
Instant: 100% NATURAL ROLLED OATS
Old-Fashioned: 100% NATURAL ROLLED OATS
Steel-Cut: 100% WHOLE GRAIN STEEL CUT OATS

I use instant because in the morning I don't have much time. Though by looking at the ingredients I figure that Old-Fashioned Vs Instant, the GI diffrence must be very little. And Steel-Cut take WAYY too long to cook. Anyways I would rather wait for someone more knowledgeable to answer your question.

Yes, oatmeal is considered a whole grain.

each little circle of oatmeal is an individual grain.

can't get much more whole grain than that, unless you eat it off the live plant.

yeah but when I dump the last of the bag in my mouth its a bunch o half grains!

it feeds my half brain.
