How It Began
When i was younger i used to always play football, probably about 4-5 times a week but when i was 14 i crushed my elbow meaning i couldnt play football for 6months.
Thats when it all started to go down hill. I couldnt play football - probably the biggest part of my life at the time, and school was out the window so i was just stuck in the house doing nothing - but gaining weight. Once my arm got better i tried to get back into things but just couldnt for some reason, i met my girlfriend (now of 5 years), and my mates introduced me to alcohol.
So as you can probably guess i would play football say 1-2 times a month now, really losing more and more interest in it, but gaining interest in standing in the stands knocking the beer and burgers back.
5 years later
About 3 months ago, i decided i really was missing something in my life, i had a new car, a new house with my girlfriend, a fantastic job, great friends but there was just something.
So i decided to give the football a go again, so instead of playing just 1-2 times a month i decided to play 1-2 times a week and i really got back into the swing of things. I even started a 5-a side football team of a monday night so i was playing at least 3times a week then and i was slowly gaining my fitness back.
Then about 5 weeks ago now, while playing football i fell over and ended up in hospital. More bad news, ive twisted and ruptured my knee ligerments and possibly damaged my cruciate. In hospital for 5 days and stuck in the house again doing nothing but AGAIN gaining weight.
A New Beginning
Last week the doctor said i can go back to work 3-4 times a week for 6 weeks on light duties and he said not to overdo it but begin to build my leg up. So ive been doing physio and brought myself a new pair of football boots (with studs this time, apparently blades are the cause for many knee ligament injuries) and this morning i began my running. I want to gain fitness back and lose some weight so i presume this is the best way to start.
I went down the fields and began my running, my leg that i recently injured felt really tight but i done a few shuttle runs, a few sprints and a jog. was running for about 30minutes..
The Food Problem
Its ok me trying to gain my fitness but i also need to try and change my eating cycle. I will admit i dont like vedgetables, fruits, pretty much anything healthy so its going to be hard. I think the best way is starting to cut down on the calories a day - say cut down to 2000 instead of the recommended 2500. maybe that will help me on my way..
Current Weight: 16stone 1 1/3 ibs (after run)
Aim: at least 14stone
