Stressed!

I'm terribly stressed out... I'm in the process of buying a condo, being stretched way too thin at work, haven't been able to christmas shop (might be too broke to christmas shop). I haven't heard from my friends in weeks because i'm always too busy to get together with them! I actually feel guilty leaving the office when i know there's more work to be done. Also, I've been constantly fighting with half of my family because i'm always in such a pissy mood...

I'm trying to fit my workouts and a healthy diet into all this. I feel totally overwhelmed!!! I'm not looking for help or sympathy, i just needed a place vent... sorry to bother everyone with this!

You need a vacation bro.

I hear ya Skian! I'm in the same boat. I feel guilty for not *making* more time to work out but I don't feel so bad becasue it's not just me (or you) it's most people. The nights I do make it in the gym is empty (kind-a nice actually)...

Not to sound trite but you know when they say " 'Tis the season"...they don't just mean cheerfulness...LOL

Excellent point... this week has been getting progressively worse, but now I am excited for the 10 day vacation coming up. I'm going to head to the mountains, not worry about work and just enjoy a few days of skiing.

I'm moving into my new place next week, and my roommate-to-be just asked if its cool if he smokes pot in his room, after i told him i didn't want that stuff in my condo (he said he quit when i asked before). Now i'm facing the problem of him not moving in and having to pay my full mortgage by myself... which is do-able, but on a pretty tight budget...

There are times when life seems overwhelming thats for sure. But perseverance and strong will will get you through. I was in the same boat as you just a few weeks ago. My business was stalling (just started), final exams were coming, we are looking for a new place, and I was trying to balance family, work, and school. I took one day at a time, and now things are good.

Vacations are good, but I dont think they help much in the middle of your worries. You only get away from the problem, and its waiting for you once you get back. If you think that roomate is gonna be trouble, I would start looking for a new one, maybe a hot girl ;) It would be easier to find a new roomate then to replace one who is already settled in.

So what are you stressed out about? Is it the fact your running low on cash? The fact your buying a condo?... Think about what your stressed out about, then ask yourself; "why am I stressed out about this?". Answer that question, and then answer this one; "Do I have to be stressed out about this?". In every case what makes any situation stressing is that your worried about the worse case scenario... Example: "I'm stressed out about my job, because if I lose my job, I will end up in the streets." So now think positively; "How can I prevent that job loss? Well I could come to work earlier, get my work done, and leave earlier if I need to. Or I could ask if I could take some work home."

So what ever is stressing you out, just think of ways to make it better...

I know how you feel. A little over 2 months ago they fired my boss and a supervisor for inappropriate conduct with a 3rd employee.
since then, they've been riding my dept's ass like a two dollar whore...like its our fault those other two morons couldn't keep it in their pants.

now we've finally proven to upper management, including the new boss, that my office is the reason the dept. was worth a damn in the first place.
Until Dec 24, the last time I was in the gym was Oct 18. it sucks too, but sometimes you just gotta re-prioritize to reduce stress, even if its temporary.

I appreciate the help... the job thing has settled down now that i'm on my holiday break. I close on the condo in a few days, and i'm hoping my uneasiness will settle once i get moved in.

As for the roommate, i talked to him, he said it won't be an issue. i really thought about just finding another roommate, but its not easy to find a new one in just a few weeks. Hopefully he'll stick to his word and not smoke... we'll see
