Stressed Friend

A close friend is under a lot of stress with work and there close colleague is handing there notice in Monday so my friend will have a very busy christmas. Im not totally sure how to handle it though. How involved I should get. Its a real dilema for me. Does anyone have any experience of helping stressed friends?

Many people get depressed and stressed during the Christmas season - try to be his/her friend and help keep his/her mind off of the negatives.

As for this statement,

there close colleague is handing there notice in Monday

I don't know what this means.

Handing in notice - Quitting Job.

Its difficult to know how involved to get. The best thing to do is just be there if you are needed IMO

Just try to be a positive presence. Don't try to ask what's wrong or help with the specific problem unless they ask for it. Generally, if I'm stressed I'll want a friend to help me get my mind off of it, to make me laugh or something. Just try to be a strong and positive presence.

Steddie, I am genuinely concerned about you. You have posted more 'friends' dilemmas on this forum in the last 2 months than anyone I have seen in the last 2 years!

Are you okay?

Glad to hear you're okay.

Have you spoken to your friend directly about this? If not, I suggest that perhaps you should. Even if there isn't an issue, a friend would appreciate the concern and hopefully put your mind at rest.
