Strenght training DVD's?

obsession

hi,
i was just wondering if someone had any suggestions on strength training DVD's that are good (and not that expensive :p )?! i've taken it that to speed up my metabolism even further and of course to tone my body i need strenght/weight training. i can't afford going to the gym, so i need to do it at home. i guess DVD's can be a good solution?
anyways, i appreciate any comments!

Have you tried The Firm; they are a combination of weight and aerobics and are very very effective. I have seen real results with them as they say on the commerical when I first saw it that guaranteed results in 10 workouts. They also give you a leaner look and make you look much more thinner than you actually are. I weigh 160 pds but people dont believe it because I look more thinner thank to the Firm.

You can get the dvds or the set at

You can also search for them on eBay. This is also available in Target and Walmart.

thanks for responding!
i've never heard of firm, but the way you're putting it i wish i had :p
i'm gonna research it right now, thanks again!
besides that, if you have any other tips that has worked for you i would be happy to hear them :)

The best thing that ever worked for me has been Firm like any other program you need to be consistent with it to see results. For my food I stick to lean protein and veggies and fruits so it is chicken, turkey and fish all the way and ofcourse lots of Water :D

haha yup of course the water! :D that water really kills me, i'm struggling so hard with drinking enough. earlier i wouldn't drink almost anything, so it's quite a change..
yeah those lean proteins are basically what i'm eating now. how about carbs like whole grain pasta or brown rice, do you eat that? i eat it occasionally, like 1 meal with either of them every 3rd day or so...

also, i checked out the FIRM website; do you have a recommendation on which DVD would give the best workout for just toning up? i run 40 min a day so i'm not looking for cardio, but strength...

i appreciate your help!

I have the firm transfirmer kit which has the steps and includes three DVD's; their workouts are a combination of strength and aerobics s even if you are doing your cardio these will definetely help you. Once you get the trasfirmer kit you can use the Firm Super Body Sculpt DVD or the Firm Aerobics and Strength training DVD and I use a couple others which I picked up from EBAY at really good price almost for 2.99 or 3.99 as someone was selling it they are Lower Body Scuplt I and II which targets your lower body completely all of the above dvd's are challenging and there is not a single firm workout which does not have strength training as a part of it.

As for the water part; try squeezing lemon juice and adding splenda to it; I feel I can drink a lot of water if I do that kind of tastes like lemonade. I target drinking 100oz at least in a day I love the way my skin has imporved because of this and how healthy it looks guess all the water; fish is really helping.

Now for the carbs; I feel that my body performs better when I stay away from pastas and brown rice; I have it once a week but otherwise just stick to veggies and fruits. I do really well this way; with pastas and rice I end up losing control over my portions and tend to over indulge...staying away from them works best for me....it is not easy but....the goal that I am working towards is worth every effort and sacrifice

ha, that's a good idea with the water actually. i guess i could do it once in a while, but it might be a little bit of a hassle to do it often, i don't know... :p
keeping a big glass of water next to me all the time has worked for me pretty good, i think i'm drinking about 80 oz a day... that's waaaay more than i used to drink!

the carbs, i have to agree, it's much easier to manage the portions when there's no pasta or rice there; especially pasta (my favourite). buuut, if i can manage not eating burgers, fries or pizza, i can manage not eating pasta :D
