Hi!

It has been pointed out to me here that I have been having a carb-heavy diet. I've been trying to change that, but it's been hard. Thought I'd just put out my menu for the past two days and ask if I'm still too carb-heavy or if I'm okay...

Yesterday

Breakfast: 1 cup Multi-grain Cheerios
.5 cup Lite Silk Soymilk
Snack:
1 cup Stonyfield farm fat-free yogurt
Lunch:
Tomato Sandwich (sliced med. tomato between 2 slices whole wheat "double fiber" bread)
Dinner:
Morning Star Veggie Burger w/2 slices whole wheat "double fiber" bread

----------------------------------------------

What I plan to have during my birthday party day today :)

Breakfast: 1 cup Multi-grain Cheerios, dry
Snack: peach
Late Birthday Lunch:
.5 cup Portabella Asparagus salad
.5 cup/ a couple oz. some kind of protein (I forget what my mom made, but no burgers, please!)
Dinner: I'm getting boring, but I like veggie burgers, sans bread! Might have one.

How's that? It's what I had yesterday, and what I'm projecting I'll have for my birthday party today. Not too sure what my mom made in terms of protein. Have to look at her list. I'll get something in. Oh I know! Clams! Maybe I'll have a couple of those.
Anyway, I would like to know if you think my diet is still too carb heavy. I know I can do better!

It looks ok carb-wise, but it doesn't look like a whole lot of calories and it definitely doesn't look like enough protein or veggies.

i see no fats, very little protein and mostly carbs and overall waaaay under what you should be eating calorie wise.. and this is you eating better? I would hate to see the before diet..

Long story short, increase the intake of protein and fats a lot. a typical macrobreakdown for in general non athlete health is 50% carbs/30% fats/20% protein. your diet is like 85% carbs/15% protein and 0% fat. You're also eating about half the food you should be eating in a day easy. prob less than that even.

and this is you eating better? I would hate to see the before diet..

.

I think this statement is truly Rude. It takes time to change as we all know. Putting someone down, has never helped anyone.

aw thanks. i think you are totally correct in that i'm rude. I never claimed to be otherwise. Doesn't change my post though. i'm still correct, that is one of the more worse diets i've seen. I truly have a hard time wondering how this is an improvement over whatever she was eating before.. something needs to shock her into getting a wrap around proper eating habits.
