Still struggling with 15 pounds

I was really overweight by my last year at uni, so I decided to make some changes.

I quit breakfast, because when I eat before noon my body becomes happy and thinks that "yeaaah, gimme more food", so I become so hungry that I could literally eat the fridge up - not the inside, the whole fridge! I only drank a big mug of coffee with milk and in the beginning prayed for noon.

For lunch I didn't eat much, but whatever I ate, I mixed it with vegetables. So it looked like this: meat with vegetables, potato with vegetables and so on. Never ever eat potato or rice with meat or cheese or fish or anything like that.

Than between lunch and dinner if I was really hungry I ate some fruit.

For dinner it depended mostly on my mood what I ate. Two slice of breads, or wholewheat with yoghurt.

And lastly nothing after 6 pm. Only some vegetables or fruit, but only if I'm really hungry

BUT! I am addicted to sweets, so I never give up on that. I need to be really careful how much I eat of that though, but I decided that I don't want to make my life unbearable so eat instead of giving up.

Well this is what helped me. Now I'm struggling with 15 more pounds, but I'm hopeful :)

I'm not saying it's good for everyone, but I wanted to share it :seeya:

First of all, welcome to the forum. Glad you're here.

Second of all, I understand the whole not-eating-breakfast thing because I'm not a big fan of eating breakfast myself; not because it makes me hungrier, but because it makes my stomach feel weird all day. However, and I'm being a hypocrite by saying this, skipping breakfast isn't the smartest of decisions. Eating breakfast contributes to losing weight (as long as you eat healthily). When you eat breakfast it gives your body a good boost to your metabolism which will help you burn more calories and more fat throughout the rest of the day, something that might help you get rid of that 15 lbs you're looking to lose.

Either way, to help with the love of sweets, have you tried substituting your sugar snacks and foods with healthier options like fruit or yogurt? No, it's not the same as eating a Snicker's bar or a bowl of ice cream but it can still help control your cravings for sweets which might help you lose a few more pounds.

Hi ChefChiTown,

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I know all the downsides of skipping breakfast, but this is the only way I can trick my stomach and my brain. However this is the reason why I drink coffee and a lot of water, so at least my stomach is not entirely empty. To be honest, sometimes I do eat in the morning, but only fruits.

Oh, I tried it, but chocolate is chocolate. Don't get me wrong, it's not an entire bar of chocolate with all its 200 g :D Just a little, to make myself comfortable.
