starting over... again

I have started over many, many times throughout the process of trying to lose weight. And it is motivating to get started, and the progress lasts for a little while, but then seems to stop. This time, I can't even get started again. I don't know what will keep me on track. How do I figure that out? I really need to get back on track quickly because I am undoing all my hard work, but I don't know how to get started. Please help if you can.

why cant you get started or stay on trackj? that's really a question you need to find the answer to yourself?

Are your expectations unreasonable? (from other stuff you've posted, I'd say yes)
Are you putting yourself on entirely too restrictive a plan (again, i'd say possibly)

What keeps you on track is a reasonable and realistic goal..

Why do you want to lose weight?

Mostly I just want to feel good about myself. I don't like the way I look, and I don't feel comfortable in my clothes, and I'd like to change that.

Ok, so I'm being unreasonable in my goals. I'm sure you're right, but to me, its just what I want. I'll try to be less restrictive in my calories, but often, when that happens, I end up eating twice as much as I should.

What keeps you on track is a reasonable and realistic goal... I like that. I think I'll try to reevaluate. But how do I know what reasonable and realistic is? I thought I was doing alright, only to find out maybe not. Should it be simply a weight goal? Or just following my plan from day to day?

I'd focus less on a goal weight because the scale can be extremely tempramental... anything can make it go up or go down - (I can point to 100s of "freak out" threads from 100s people who think they did one little thing wrong and the scale went nuts) Focusing on the behavior and the healthy habits you want to take with you for the rest of your life -will make the results follow...

Just make sure your plan is something you can stick with - chocolate isnt evil, ice cream isn't evil - if you have a favorite thing - no reasonw hy you can't have it and still get the results you're after -it's the big picture you want to keep in mind...

Thank you very much, Mal. I'm going to start by identifying permanent changes I want to make, and then work my goals around them, instead of the other way around.

Some advice

I'd recommend a beachbody workout they are great. LINK DELETED
