Starting out..

Hey Everyone!
I am new here and like everyone else i am trying to loose some weight...i lost a good deal of weight before and tonned up and all that jazz and then I moved to South Africa for 5 months and well with the GREAT food and wine and UNBELIEVALBE prices (coming from living and working in London) i couldn't stop eating out and drinking out so i gained most everything back.

I am looking to not only change my body but also change my attitude, while is was in Africa and not worried about dieting and my looks i had the most fun and was the most personable i have ever been, I have never had soo many dates in my life!! I am convinced that when i obsess about wieght and working out and starving/noteatingbread/noteatingxyz i just suck all the fun out of a room and out of my life...i want to get healthy and and i want to loose weight but i don't want to loose out on all the life that will happen inbetween where i am now and my goal.

So thats somewhat my story and my goal i was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to diet with out it taking over your life??

oh just so ya'll know b/c i know it helps i am 5'8 and 177 right now and would like to loose about 40 pounds or be around 135-140 or whatever looks good
 
Everything in moderation...that's what I do. Not to promote or anything, but I just joined weight watchers online, and the flex plan I'm doing is all about this. I can eat anything I want, but have to watch the portion size, and keep within my points. So I have to make sure I eat food that is healthy, lower calories, lower fat content, lower sugar, etc. I get enough each day to fill me up though. Don't deprive yourself completely of what you love, just have it in moderation, as a treat. Pop is totally bad for you, but it's my favorite thing to drink. So I allow myself one a day, and I allot for that in my points/calories.

Thanks! i was actually really thinking about starting ww i am just worried that once i go off it i'll gain everything back....
