It's an ECA (Ephedra/ine-Caffeine-Aspirin) stack and so it's extremely effective. It comes with a host of potential side effects, however:
- Increase in blood pressure
- Increase in heart rate
- Headaches, light-headedness, dizziness
- A feeling of restlessness/hyperactivity
- Trouble sleeping (if taken within 4 hours of bedtime)
- A jittery, nervous feeling
It also contains Chitosan, a fat-buffering fiber derived from crustacean shells. So if your mom isn't allowed to have shellfish for any reason, this is a big red flag.
Also, the 'A' in ECA stands for Aspirin which means it's a pain killer. The dosage may be minimal enough where this doesn't matter, but aspirin during exercise increases the risk of injury.
Now, at the same time, it's an extremely effective fat burner and you can expect 300-600 additional calories burned per day (depending on the person - it could even be much less or more than this, of course).
That said, thermogenics HELP in weight loss - they won't be the end all. If you don't get some real regular activity, and if you don't switch to healthier eating habits, they won't take you very far.
