Sprinting

Can anyone tell me if they think that sprinting is of equal or less in value when it comes to burning fat and calories. I do both but I still wonder if the sprinting is doing any good or if I should concentrate on distance.

Sprinting burns more calories than paced distance running but you can't do it for as long, so it just depends how much effort you put in.

Also, when you are sprinting your muscles stop burning fat as fuel and switch over to sugar within the muscles. The best way to burn fat is to stay within a lower heart rate and go for duration. For instance, jogging/light running would be much more beneficial.
