I drink powerade

I drink gatorade and twin-labs energy drink pre-workout. I do not like caffeine, so I avoid that for an energy drink.

Nope. Unless you are working out for more than an hour you do not need these energy drinks. And if you do have them... use a 2:1 ratio of water to drink.

This is pretty common knowledge amongst athletes. Great question!

I drink X20, daily. It's actually not a drink...it's a satchet you add to water. I found out about it from my boss (a veterinarian, who is also very knowledgeable about human health). She's been using it for awhile and swears by it. I just started using it and it has really helped my energy level, whether I'm exercising or not. (I have extreme late-night study habits and a hectic class and work schedule, so something like this has got me quite happy!)

I ordered it from . Lots of info on the product there, so check it out if ya want :)

Trainer Lynn- great reply...there is more information about sports drinks, when to drink, how much fluid to intake....etc at the web site for the American College of Sports Medicin. Check out thier position stand on exercise and fluid replacement.
Good Luck on all of your fitness goals!

I drink accelerade during and after my workouts. I highly recommend it over gatorade. I buy it in a powder mix from GNC. 21 grams carbs, 5 grams protein per serving. Personally, because i Have such an insane metabolism, it doesn't matter how much I eat before a workout, it's never enough to last. So the accelerade really helps.

Everyone is right though that you don't need it unless it's a really intense workout.
