Sponsored walk - what do you think?

I just found out that there will be a sponsored night walk in Manchester on April 17th, for Cancer Research. I am pondering on doing it for two main reasons -

a) My best friend died of skin cancer, and I want to do what I can to help get more funding in that area

b) It's a walk, not a marathon. I can't run, but I can certainly walk, and it would give me something to work forward to

I wonder what people think about it, and more importantly, if there is anybody in the area who would be interested to go as well? Might be more fun to meet up and do it together.

Here is a link to the Cancer Research website and this particular event, if anybody is interested. Let me know what you think, and if anybody would be interested in going, give me a shout!

It sounds great! You should def give it a whirl, San!!

They have a night walk for Cancer here, and I believe it's called something like light up the night, with either a light inside of white balloons, or some type of light. :)

I've only done a Breast Cancer run. They're neat cause you get to share with other's that you're fighting for a good cause. I wore a shirt that said, I was dedicating my walk to my Grammie, whom was still alive at the time.

Cancer came back though & with the diabetes, she lost the battle 3 Summer's ago.

I Love You, Grammie! :hug2:

Oh yaay! Im doing a sponsored walk too coming up. Its the Oxfam 100km walk - i have to find $2000 in sponsors to be able to walk it as well as training for it :D

I wonder what people think about it

I think it's a good idea. Not only will it give you some good and reasonable exercise, but you'll be doing it for the benefit of charity. I say "do it". Do it like teenagers during their first time. You know, all fast, sweaty and uncoordinated. Wait, no...that's not a good example. Umm...do it like...uhh...you know...you know, just do it.
