Spinning/Cycling Muscle Growth

I have a student who recently approached me asking about her muscle overgrowth. She claims that her leg muscles have grown to a size larger than she desires. One recommendation that another spinning instructor gave her was to increase her cadence and lower her resistance. With my knowledge of weight lifting, this seems like a completely logical approach.

-Can anyone comment on the validity of this recommendation?

-Is there any documentation supporting this recommendation?

-How will sets of jumps (3 revolutions standing, 3 revolutions sitting) affect this condition?

A quick Google search yielded no results.

Thanks in advance!

I am reluctant to buy the spinning increases leg muscle size. I do spinning classes occasionally and every female instructor I have ever had had thin legs. But, decreasing resistance and increasing cadence is a good strategy anyways and may work a little for your client.
