Spinning Bike Recommendations

Am interested in your recommendations. So far, people suggested the following:

LeMond Revmaster
Spinner NXT
Spinner Elite

Am also looking for the most quiet, stable and durable bike.

Thanks.

Hi

I've always used the Schwinn range of bikes at spinning classes and found it to be a really comfortable bike. I recently bought one for home and it's great.

I found the following link for you to have a look.

Hope this helps :)

If buying used doesn't bother you, see what the gyms in your are looking to sell - might pick up a good deal that way.

As a spinning instructor for over 5 years and having taught on many different bikes...I'd definately recommend the Jonny G Spinner NXT.

It is a very smooth ride, comfortable handles, easy to adjust....

The bike Wannabehealthy suggested is okay....personally I find them very uncomfortable....but that is just me.

Did you try Revmaster too? Revmaster uses a Kevlar belt instead of a chain so it's supposedly quieter than the Spinner bikes (which use a chain belt).

Do not get a recumbant Precor. It is easy for a person to get lazy on precors. Meaning you tend to forget about the core activation and supporting your own body weight with your upper body. The spinning bikes teach you to control your upper body. Plus you cannot to standing climbs, standing flats etc on a recumbant precor.

I have used bikes that had the belt instead of the chain. Do not get that kind. The resistance is not that smooth as with a chain. The range of resistance is greater with a chain bike. And they are not loud at all!!!

The Star Trac NXT spinner might be a bit of an overkill for home use. Check out either of the mid range (but still commercial quality) Star Trac spinners -- the Pro 6800 or the Elite 6900. There is a comparable Schwinn unit in that range as well. The Pros go for about $750 and the Elites for around $945.
