Spin Class

I was wondering if I was to do spinning for four days out of the week and do some stair master for a good 15 mins would that help me burn more fat and tone up faster?

Compared to what? What are you doing right now? If you're not active right now, you're not gonna be able to do spinning classes 4x / week, or at least you won't be able to do them correctly. If you are active right now, yes the spinning classes would help, but I would incorporate them with weights as cardio + weights > cardio alone for losing weight.

And, 15 mins on the stairmaster isn't enough. Do at least 20 mins, 30 mins is even better.

I dunno....it's all so very confusing. If you're hot I'm gonna need to see some naked pics to really make that determination & properly asses your situation. Strictly for scientific purposes of course..... :D

Oh no, I sooooo went there!!! :D:yelrotflmao::rofl:

Sorry, too easy, had to hit it. ANYWAYS...sunshine; exercise IS exercise and it's always good to mix it up. The muscles you use in spin are engaged a bit different when you step, elliptical and whatever else. Since you're already pounding those muscle --excuse me--

Hehehehehhe.....lol, rolf, hehehe...

-- okay, back--

As I was saying, since your're already working your legs in spin, I'd suggest getting some other areas going. Rowing and swimming are excellent upper-body cardio workouts that can really make a nice difference in changing-up your routine. I'd lay-off your legs, 4 days is pretty intense on those stems.

Myself, I LOVE to do spin-class and then hit the pool, I call it my spin/swim program! Lower body, then upper body: perfect blend! Full-body cardio and you walk-out feeling sooooo refreshed & up!

Sorry about the comments, the testosterone flowith! :D

The bottom line in fat burning is that your caloric intake MUST be less than your caloric output. I would suggest taking a look at your diet and eliminating anything made with processed sugars, flours and fats. Coke, candy, cake, chocolate, bread, chips or anything that takes a food away from it's natural state.
My rule is that if it is more than 1 step away from natural, it's a no-no. For example; I will eat oatmeal but only if it's normal oats, I will not eat quickoats. I will eat potatoes sparingly but not potato chips. I will drink juice but nothing with the word juice cocktail in the name.
Also, consider reading a book called "eat right for your type" it is a little controversial but I believe in it wholeheartedly. It suggests that your optimum diet is based on your bloodtype. I was able to determine my bloodtype just by looking at the foodcharts and comparing what I liked and didnt like to eat with what foods were good for me and which were detrimental. (I then confirmed it at the local blood donation centre) I went from 225 down to 185 in three months using this method and cycling.
But remember, if your diet is crap, it won't matter how much you spin.

Besides all the sexual talk w/ swim and spin he is making a good point take advise from him he knows what he is talking about

Spinning is a great way to burn calories and 4x a week will help. You will definitely tone the legs. But, bad eating habits can sabatoge any exercise routine, so make sure you take a look at that too.
You may want to consider yoga for strengthening the core, upper body and definitely for the flexibility.

Sorry for mining an old thread.

I spin twice a week, and then do a PT session on the weekend which consists of core exercise and upper body strengthening. Ive been doing this since May and have lost about 22lbs, with no major dietary changes other than not eating take away foods. Its not a lot of weight lost but it has helped change my life enough to enjoy some added quality as well as fitting in my clothes a lot better, plus the compliments from friends and family has aided in self confidence and gives me more determination to keep going.

I find this routine more of a lifestyle change rather than for just a extended period of time.

I used to get into these periods of wanting to lose weight for a given reason and would go on a bender at the gym for about 3 months, go on these extreme diets and after the purpose of working out was over, I'd go back to my old habits and put all the weight I lost back on. I knew this wasn;t healthy.

In saying that, spin 4 times a week with some light weight training and some yoga classes combined with a healthy eating routine will help you shed lbs off very quickly.
