Soy Protein

As for as my own experience males should stay away from all soy products because of the estrogens in them. Tried them in Aug. for health reasons started putting on body fat and noticing other side effects (libido)(Sept).
Took them back out of my plan and upped my dhea and finnally returning back to normal and losing body fat again( Nov.). By the way hello and this my first post.

What about females though? I have soy protein powder that I put on my cereal. I'm trying to lose body fat so I was hoping that my body would be able to use this protein like any other source of protein.

If it could raise estrogen it will probably cause you to retain more fat. I'd finish off the soy, and then invest in some whey.
 
Yeah there is just not much stock or value to soy protein. I drink soy milk due to lactose intolerance but for my protein powder I use ON's Egg Protein chalked full with amino acids. Its a little slower digesting than whey by some studies but still a great protein source. If you don't have any whey/milk intolerance than Whey is where it is at.
 
not enough scientists agree on soy yet, so I say its best avoided, but shouldn't be feared. if you occasionaly have some soy, no biggie. but don't seek it out.
 
i been takin soy protein shakes miked with soy milk 2x a day for about 4 wks now havent gained any weight i have been losing weight about 10-12 pounds to be exact (it changes daily) The reason to this is cuz I am allergic to whey and cassein (the protein from milk) so soy is my only real option here.. i hope i dont turn into a girl..but it has been doing me nothing but good i neva heard of egg mix.. where can i find this at?
 
Soy protein is beneficial to approx 80% of women. Women who are considered secretors (a term that describes the way food is absorbed into the blood stream) can benefit largely from SOY...more so from whey protein, in fact. However, men should stick to whey protein, and women who work out, should still drink a whey protein shake after they work out. Soy protein feeds your muscles over a longer period of time as opposed to whey which can be utilized by the body immediately.
