Sore Left Knee When Exercising

Almost every day (or every other day) when I do any kind of strength training and/or the eliptical machine, my left knee begins to ache and it feels slightly swollen.

I have to take it easy for a day or two before the aching goes away.

I treat the joint carefully to not put too much strain on it but I"m wondering what could cause this?

Anyone else have this problem?

Have you had any history of injury to that knee (beyond aches and pains?)
 
Aching

No injury that I know of.....I do get periodic bouts of achiness like arthritis and have had it all my life so maybe it has something to do with that?

I"m at a loss for what it could be.
 
In many cases, it's a problem of posture. Do you have any pictures posted, particually full body side pictures? If not, tell me this - when you stand in a natural way, look down at your feet. which way do they point? do they both point the same way? do they point straight or outwards a bit?



Take the time to read through that, it's worth it. In particular, knee sleeves are wonderful things.
 
That is a great article that Derwyddon posted.

My advice is really don't tip toe around a "weak" body part. Challenge it, challenge it smart of course, use proper form, but make it utilize its purpose and function.
 
Posture?

It might be my posture....I'll have to take some pics and see what you think. Sandy
